The plot was extremely far-out and the characters were dastardly in their deeds. They weren't Scottish, mind you; they were just a group of assholes who liked wearing kilts.

This was occasionally funny, extremely imaginative, and plenty smutty. Unfortunately, it was mostly gross. In the end, there were just too many POOP jokes. I was wiped out by the scatalogical humor - a sentence I've never uttered before, and hope never to use again. View all 7 comments.

Starting with two stars, I gave this book an extra star for the Phantom Menace joke, which I had not heard before and hope it is an author original. I then take off a half point for the analogy to witches being burned in Salem, which is historically incorrect.

Hill's book follows early porn pioneers Mendoza Dooblah and Badlands Meredith as they travel the new frontier of the old west, pitching tents and displaying footage that they'd captured during orgies at the previous one-hussy town. As the duo of debauchery traversed presumably heading to California to establish Hollywood, or more appropriately San Fernando Valley, as a lecherous locality , the silver coin earned at salacious screenings in one town is turned around and re-invested in the film company to organize sex-fests in the next town. Skipping over the sleazy stags of the forties and fifties, the bushy bawdiness of the seventies and eighties, and the indecent Internet of the nineties and early twenty-first century, Hill suddenly thrusts the reader deep into the filth of the future by describing an intergalactic race of alien porn addicts, where nine out of every ten beings from every star system produce and enjoy smut.

Hill's outrageous book may never make it to the silver screen, but if Alejandro Jodorowsky's "El Topo" is not weird enough for you or if Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" ain't bizarre enough for you, then I'd highly recommend that you pick up a copy of the StrangeHouse Books publication of Kent Hill's bizarro weird western novel "Alien Smut Peddlers from the Future. Both releases are excellent in my opinion. Blob the alien comes from the future where Porn is the main currency. After an unfortunate accident his spaceship crash lands right smack dab in the middle of the Wild West. But this What a blast! I don't think I've read anything quite like it.

Dec 26, John Bruni rated it it was amazing. This book is dedicated to Joe R. Lansdale and Charles Band, and once you're done reading it, you'll understand why. You may have read weird western tales before, but nothing can prepare you for the lunacy you're about to encounter.
