Agli esami lieve rialzo degli indici di flogosi,non leucocitosi, sierologia ed Ag urinari negativi, BNP nei limiti;quantiferon positivo; PCR per BK positiva nelle urine.

Mediante terapia antibiotica ad ampio spettro e terapia antitubercolare parziale risoluzione degli addensamenti ma recidiva del versamento pleurico omosede. Eseguita pleuroscopia con citologico negativo; alle biopsie pleuriche diagnosi di mesotelioma epiteliomorfo. La broncoscopia mostra a livello del bronco lingulare supe-riore una formazione endocanalicolare di colorito brunastro e consi-stenza poltacea che viene biopsiata. Il referto anatomopatologico depone per metastasi di melanoma maligno epitelioide positivo per HMB Il decesso si verifica a distanza di 6 mesi dalla diagnosi.

Il caso clinico descritto riguarda un melanoma regredito totalmente dalla sua sede di origine cutanea o mucosa. Alla TC addome con mdc aree compatibili con ascessi epatici e splenomegalia. Il paziente riferisce di avere mangiato recentemente pesce crudo marinato sul lago di Bolsena. Viene quindi inviato un campione ematico e delle feci all' ISS che conferma la presenza del parassita.

S'inizia trattamento con Praziquantel con rapida remissione dei sintomi e dei segni. Opistorchis Felineus e un parassita trematode la cui infezione e comu-ne in cani e gatti. La trasmissione all' uomo e occasionale ed avviene tramite l' ingestione di pesci d'acqua dolce crudi o poco cotti conte-nenti le metacercarie del parassita.

Queste si liberano nel duodeno ri-lasciando larve che poi migrano e maturano a vermi nell' albero biliare. I vermi rilasciano delle piccole uova che passano nell' intestino e si liberano con le feci. Se il paziente alberga una bassa carica parassitaria puo anche essere asintomatico; in caso contrario puo sviluppare sintomi eclatanti. Nel periodo estivo le enteriti possono avere un' eziologia rara parassitaria. La diagnosi precoce e la terapia mirata sono indispensabili per una risoluzione di quadri clinici che se non diagnosticati possono divenire minacciosi per la vita del paziente.

Het initiatief werd tien jaar geleden genomen. Ik stuurde de voorzitter van deze organisatie verschillende e-mails maar tot op heden heb ik geen antwoord ontvangen. Ten slotte vroeg ik in de winkel waarom deze vrouwen in de gevangenis op Giudecca zitten. De bleke verkoopster weet meteen wat ik bedoel.

Ze komt uit Padua, woont in Castello. Een weddenschap bracht haar ertoe de gevangenismode te verkopen. De gouden brokaatmantel in de etalage is het werkstuk van een gevangene, moet het vrouwelijke eergevoel oplappen. De kleermakersopleiding biedt zinvol tijdverdrijf, hersocialisering, ja zelfs toekomst voor levenslang veroordeelden, ze zouden ook modeontwerpster kunnen worden. Het initiatief onderhoudt naast de kleermakerij ook een wasserij en een cateringservice. Van de kruiden en bloemen maken de gevangenen zepen. Hotels blijken deze acties te ondersteunen en de zepen liggen in de badkamers van de gastenverblijven.

Zo wast de ene hand de andere, schuimend komt het tot een win-winsituatie. Er is niet veel volk op straat in Giudecca, zo vroeg in de ochtend na het hevige onweer. De wind giert langs de Fondamenta delle Convertite. Daarachter zitten de naaisters. Voor een fikse prijs zijn er in ieder geval gouden brokaatmantels.

Elegantie betekent ingehoudenheid, nadenken over draad, motief, tint, de vervaardiging van het mogelijke, duurzaamheid. Fortuny-stoffen zijn collectors items, ze worden soms zelfs ingelijst, daarmee vergeleken is de gevangenismode betaalbaar. Gabriella had een gelijksoortig project, zij liet in de mannengevangenis kinderschoenen maken. Hij plande zijn ontsnapping, kocht personeel om. Hij wist zich te bevrijden en zijn memoires op te schonen. De gedachte dat pedofielen kinderschoenen fabriceren — mannenschoenen vanaf maat 48 noemde men vroeger kinderlijkkisten.

De stad leeft bovengronds en zowat driehonderdduizend harten slaan hier nacht na nacht in de bedden. De laatste moord is decennia geleden gepleegd. Het Lido is rijk. Een cruiseschip vaart richting open zee, de bus rijdt parallel daarmee over de kustweg. We buigen af, steken het eiland dwars over en aan de horizon vaart de overal bovenuit stekende commandobrug van de gigant rond het Lido, om op de Adriatische Zee, tegen steeds meer knopen, langzaam uit het zicht te verdwijnen. De weg voert langs het Ospedale al Mare. De ruiten van de omheinde paviljoenen zijn ingeslagen, hekken opengebroken, medische apparatuur, installaties en toestellen door vandalen gesloopt en vernield.

Het ziekenhuis werd pas in gesloten. Kinderen zitten onder de arcaden aan een meterslange tafel, geflankeerd door verpleegsters die de orde handhaven. Alle blikken gericht op dat ene punt, de lens van de fotograaf, die hier tot meester van het moment verheven is.

Ook de lege bedden staan in de zonovergoten zaal in het gelid, als soldaten bij de parade. Het zicht op zee brengt een zweem lichtheid in de vertrekken, de zon glinstert fel door de open deuren en ramen. Ik sta voor een gebarricadeerde poort. Onkruid woekert, metalen buizen, glas, uit de hengsels gerukte ramen, oude computers liggen te vergaan op de geasfalteerde weg tussen de paviljoenen. Het strand ligt maar een kattensprong hiervandaan.

Onderweg leidt een bord naar het struikgewas. Ik beland in een voorportaal. In het midden ervan: Carlo Citron zal me later vertellen dat het Ospedale werd gebouwd met geld uit schenkingen en bijgevolg aan de Venetiaanse gemeenschap toebehoort. Hij staat sinds een jaar op de bres voor de redding van het Teatro Marinoni, dat in het Ospedale gevestigd is.

Carlo ondersteunt de krakers en organiseert workshops, concerten en een internationale kunsttentoonstelling. In de tuin voor de ingang van het theater ligt een cirkelvormig podium. Dan verschijnt een mannenhoofd voor het venster, gebogen over de monitor van zijn camera. Het Marinoni-theater was het hart van het ziekenhuis. Op de zoldering prijkt nog het ongedeerde fresco van Cherubini. Tenminste, men veronderstelt dat het van Cherubini is.

Het portaal op het verhoogde podium schittert in de zon. Op de planken licht een beklede stoel rood op. Ooit werkten tweeduizend mensen in het Ospedale. Daniele Frison is documentairemaker. Hij legt het initiatief ter redding van het openbaar goed vast. De kern van de groep bestaat uit twintig activisten.

Het theater brandt van schoonheid in het licht van de ondergaande zon, met het gordijn van rode velours blaakt de ruimte van kracht. Daniele gidst me door de vertrekken op de bovenste verdiepingen. Er staan installaties tentoongesteld. Kleine en grote kunstwerken naast belangrijke en onbelangrijke. Drie verroeste rolstoelen verbeelden samen de afwezigheid van hun vroegere eigenaars tegen de kale wand, waarop een reusachtig paar vleugels als grijsblauwe schaduw verschijnt. We ontmoeten Carlo Citron aan de kiosk voor de hoofdingang van het Ospedale. Hij werkt als kleuteronderwijzer, is politiek actief.

Hij steekt een helpende hand toe en herstelt de ergste schade in het theater. Het Excelsior is al in handen van de dubieuze investeerdersgroep Real Venice 2.

In werkelijkheid vindt een uitverkoop van Venetiaans vastgoed plaats, zo wordt gevreesd. Met een knipoog demonstreert hij zijn kracht, rolt de spierballen. Het theater is zogenaamd een beschermd monument, maar dat stelt niet veel voor. Als het verkocht wordt, kan het toch gesloopt worden, ten prooi vallen aan een brand? Dan zou men ongehinderd flats kunnen bouwen. Zelfs als de deal al gesloten zou zijn, dan nog hopen de activisten op een kentering. Plots wordt zijn blik scherp en borend. Een jongeman komt aangefietst.

Als de knaap ons voorbijrijdt, roept hij hem na dat hij weet wie hij is. Nieuwe banden kosten meer dan euro. De corrupte politiek slaat munt uit de waarden die we hier hebben, steelt uit pure hebzucht. Theaters zijn heilig, meent hij. Hier wordt de opstand niet gerepeteerd, maar opgevoerd.

Het Festival Internazionale della Cultura e della Salute is er gekomen en is het resultaat van volharding. De vraag om het terrein te transformeren tot ateliers voor internationale kunstenaars in plaats van het te vernielen en om te vormen tot leegstaande flats, blijft hangende. In de buurt van La Fenice is weer een uiting van Venetiaanse duurzaamheid te vinden. Maskers, die niets te maken hebben met de massaproductie die San Marco overspoelt. Carlo Setti, een van de drie nog werkelijke meesters in de kunst van het maskers vervaardigen, heeft zelf het expressieve gezicht van een masker en dat is geen wonder, want hij maakt zijn werkstukken op basis van zijn eigen mimiek.

Zijn gezicht dient voor het observeren en het toetsen van stemmingen, gevoelens, die hij vervolgens omzet in een statische gelaatsuitdrukking. De halve en hele lederen maskers worden beschilderd, geverfd of eenvoudigweg onbewerkt gelaten. Ze liggen in de etalage aan de Frezzeria. Hij is volgestouwd met papier, leer, stukken, werktuigen, modellen. Hijzelf, zo beweert hij, gaat nergens heen. Daar woont hij, hij is een pendelaar. Veertig minuten per rit. Ik zet een masker op, blaas de uitsparingen voor de ogen leven in met mijn blik en bekijk mezelf in de spiegel met een mengeling van bevreemding en vertrouwdheid.

De stukken zijn vervaardigd van rundsleer. Carlo schrijft in een e-mail dat het leer met tannine gelooid moet zijn om het goed te kunnen bewerken. Tannine vind je in planten en schors. De natuurlijke looistof gaat de ontbinding van de dierenhuid tegen en maakt die goed kneedbaar. Elk masker is voor de meester een experiment. Carlo werkt wanneer hij daar zin in heeft en onderwerpt zich niet aan het levenstempo van de kitschindustrie. Als zijn stukken hem niets meer zeggen, laat hij ze voor wat ze zijn. Hij wacht tot de geest er weer in zit, tot de creativiteit aanslaat.

Dan zorgt associatie ervoor dat hij zin heeft om door te gaan. Hij werkt elke dag. Het ambacht heeft hij uit boeken geleerd. In zijn jeugd speelde hij theater, musiceerde hij en trad hij op in Teatro Stabile en in Cabaret Instabile. Het massatoerisme heeft van San Marco een gelato- annex snackkraam gemaakt. In plaats van van het leven te genieten, worden mensen er tegenwoordig naar binnen geperst, in de verkeerde veronderstelling meer te verdienen.

Curiosity 'alla veneziana'

De kleine winkel blijft zijn koninkrijk. Welk masker past bij mij? Ik kies een volledig masker, met mond en kin. Nu mijn vertrouwde gezicht bedekt is, openbaart mijn lichaam zich en maakt een reusachtige indruk, had me nog nooit zo aanwezig geleken. De Oostenrijkse Sissi droeg graag maskers terwijl ze sliep. Ze bedekte haar gezicht met rauw kalfsvlees en fixeerde het gewicht met het masker op haar gezicht. Sissi voederde haar teint met het vlees, het collageen moest het verouderen tegengaan.

Hoe komt Carlo aan inspiratie? Invallen voor gelaatsuitdrukkingen waaien zomaar aan, meestal kom je ze tegen in de confrontatie met jezelf. Als iemand lacht maar treurig is, dan zie je de breuk in het halve masker. Treurigheid losmaken om vrolijkheid te laten opwellen, dat is het recept voor geluk. Ik ben tot de Zona Militare doorgedrongen. Achter de muur ligt een sportterrein, scholieren spelen voetbal. De Zona Militare is afgegrendeld. Een dakloze vrouw snuffelt erin rond. Ze heeft een bochel.

Ze stapelt papier op. Duiven pikken brood en etensresten uit de vuilnisbak. Katten zitten in een koerende zee en staren me aan. Ik wil de absurditeit van de ellende in de Venetiaanse pracht, de afgelegen hoek voor de omhoog geschoten voetbal achter de muur en de aansporingskreten van de voetballers vasthouden. Nog voor ik een foto kan maken, ontdekt de dakloze vrouw me en jaagt me weg met haar geschreeuw.

Over de ijzeren loopplank langs het Arsenale en de Fondamenta Nuove vat ik de terugtocht aan. De masten van de jachten zingen als klankhout als de wind door de jachthaven blaast. Hij kookt voor mij. De tomaten zijn fijngesneden en een verfijnde zachtzoete zweem stijgt op uit de pan, waarin ze liggen te sudderen.

Lorenzo woont op de bovenste verdieping van zijn huis op de Campo San Maurizio. De vaporetti zijn te traag. De prijzen zijn bespottelijk hoog, enkel betaalbaar voor groepen toeristen die de kosten kunnen delen. De voordelen lijken ten opzichte van wat de stad doet ontoelaatbaar laag. De wet werkt dit in de hand. Van Castello naar Piazzale Roma is het een uur wandelen, met de vaporetto duurt het net zo lang. Daarom zijn de veerboten voortdurend overvol en is reizen ermee voor inwoners ondraaglijk. Nieuwe verkeersconcepten worden geblokkeerd door lobbyisten. Dat alles leidt ertoe dat Venetianen die op het vasteland werken, wegtrekken.

Tekeningen kunnen de tussenwerelden, tussen verschijning en voorstelling van de werkelijkheid, laten vibreren. Maar de verblijfsomstandigheden moeten aangepast zijn aan de voorwaarden van onze tijd. In alle leeszalen van de Querini Stampalia kraakt de parketvloer, de uitleenbalie ligt in de achterste vleugel. In een map zitten de schriftjes en ook de brieven. Casanova schreef twee brieven aan Andrea Querini. Het handschrift heeft een regelmatig tempo en is met zijn losstaande letters en de elkaar afwisselende volle en fijne halen heel ostentatief.

Krommingen zijn open, hoofdletters rond en mager gevormd, onregelmatig tot slingers aaneengeregen. Koppen en staarten van de letters zwaaien uit, de grootte van het handschrift ziet er als geheel normaal uit met een neiging naar rechts. De beginletters zijn bij haast elk substantief sterk benadrukt. De afstand tussen de regels is opvallend groot. De tekst ziet eruit als een blok, naar onderen toe sterk samengedrukt. Ik zit in een klein vertrek en de brieven uit het jaar knisperen niet, ze rinkelen tussen de vingers.

Het papier is nauwelijks vergeeld, dun en hard alsof het van glas was. Schande over de barbaar die een van de Casanova-brieven aan Querini heeft beschadigd! De boosdoener jatte de handtekening van de beruchte vrouwenheld, scheurde die eruit en nu gaapt er een gat aan de onderkant van het blad. Op het papier zijn nog de uitlopers van de zwierige beginletters van Giacomo Casanova te herkennen. De barbaar had niet eens een scherpe blik bij zijn misdaad.

De puntjes van de koppen en staarten bleven op het blad achter. De tekst is bij wijze van spreken gecastreerd. De tweede brief is intact, de handtekening klein, haast bescheiden. Ik waag het ongemerkt over het papier te strijken. Querini was ambassadeur in Parijs, een machtig man en Casanova, naar men beweert, spion.
