Bertrand wants to go beyond method: He draws the distinction between being a witness — having the information - and bearing witness — sharing the information. He wants us to move from being consumers of to being contributors to culture via being self-conscious about culture and being a critic of culture. This process follows along similar lines of this book from worldview through wisdom to witness.
