You have to read Edge of Forever. As sad as I am for the series to end, DaCosta did it justice. I can't remember the last time I read the end of a series that left me so satisfied. Oct 14, Karinloos rated it it was amazing. What can I say it's a Pippa book. She writes the best anti hero ever. Sep 16, Graeme rated it it was amazing. The final book in any series is usually a bitter-sweet one, and Edge of Forever is no different. In Edge of Forever we get the thrilling conclusion to the Ace Dante story started in 'Hidden Blade', and what a conclusion it was.
Pippa DaCosta has maintained the high standard of writing I have come to expect from her books, her ability to craft believable characters and place them in realistic situations is a credit to her skill as a writer. The plot gallops along at breakneck speed, but at no time does the reader feel like they are being left behind, nor does Ms DaCosta resort to using Deus Ex Machina to get herself out of problems, impressive considering she is dealing with Gods and Goddesses. As for that ending, without going into spoilers, I fear some people may not like the ending. However, I think it is perfect, and is possibly the only way the story could end, even if it does mean a follow up series is unlikely.
But I can live in hope. Final thoughts - I read this series in one hit, and at no time did I get bored during the journey Impressive, considering I read six novels in the space of a couple of weeks. Pippa DaCosta has firmly entrenched herself on my must buy, must read list, and I eagerly await her next release.

I urge you to give anything she writes a chance, because you won't be disappointed. Sep 10, Penny Noble rated it it was amazing Shelves: First off, I must confess I both loved and hated this book. Well, first off, it was terrific, and I think the best in the series! The book was well-written, tied up most loose ends nothing major was left open , and had a great conclusion. Ace, Shu, and company battles Seth in the only way they can.
The action was wonderful, and I was so riveted by the book, I read it in one setting. So, what did I hate about it? I First off, I must confess I both loved and hated this book. The whole series was great, and I hate to say goodbye to all the characters. That, in and of itself, shows how great a writer Ms. If you are a fan and have read the previous books, you will love this ending. Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.
Sep 26, Aly is so frigging bored rated it really liked it Shelves: A satisfying ending to the series: Sep 11, Gretchen Coon rated it it was amazing. I loved the ending!!! I won't give away too much because I don't want to spoil any of the plot, but trust me when I say this final book doesn't disappoint. Ace has come full circle and it's time to make things right again.
He knows the old gods no longer have a place in the present time. He has a plan to rid the world of them, but will it work and if it does will he survive? If he does survive, will it be as Apophis or Ace?? Ahhhh, I was so anxious to see how it would end and if good would preva I loved the ending!!! Ahhhh, I was so anxious to see how it would end and if good would prevail or if Ace would be lost to his dark nature! I had been anxiously waiting to see if Ace would really prove that he is more than darkness. I felt that was becoming more questionable at times as the series progressed.
I needed to stir the bones of this dead city. I needed both worlds to notice me, to fear me, to come and see what the end of a world looked like, to try to stop Apophis. Seeing one character again was a great surprise and helped to bring things full circle. I can't believe it's over, but it was an awesome ride for sure!!!
I'm really going to miss Ace, Shu and the gang. If you haven't read this series yet, you're missing out! Oct 11, Amy Braun rated it it was amazing. Well, that was quite the finale! Literally, most of the book was one big climax, which is likely why it was so short. But it was a good read! The ending was suitable for the series and I've got no complaints except that I'm going to miss Ace, Shu, Cat, and Cujo! There was tons of action and the story moved into some serious dark territory, especially in the beginning.
Ace's final character transformation was impressive, and a reminder that he is not someone to mess with. I also really enjoyed Well, that was quite the finale! I also really enjoyed the little tease in the epilogue. Not a cliffhanger, but if you're paying attention, it makes the ending all the better. This series was definitely dark and its finale is no exception, but I loved every bit of it. Ace is the ultimate anti-hero and I'm truly going to miss this universe and its impressive take on magic and urban fantasy. If you haven't picked any of these books up, do so now!
They're not long books, and you can speed through them and not freak out over the cliffhangers like I did. Sep 17, Edeena Cross rated it really liked it. Endings are always hard. Devastating in one way or another. Having enjoyed this series immensely, I was dreading the conclusion. Also having inhaled every book as it hit the streets, I was waiting with baited breath for this to arrive.
I don't know whether it was because this tale was too neatly wrapped up or whether it was just too short for me to be able to bid farewell to these characters, but I found myself disappointed for the first time ever. It was, on the other han Endings are always hard. It was, on the other hand, a relief that none of the characters I loved died.
I'm sorry that Ace's story is over, and congratulate Ms DaCosta on another fabulous series. Mar 06, Rachel Chiapparine rated it really liked it. I picked it up from the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know how everything ends. My personal review of the book is as follows: I personally rate this I picked it up from the Nook store on my tablet because I had to know how everything ends. I personally rate this book an 8 and a half out What a fabulous ride.
This last book brings it all together. I hat that it has come to an end but what an ending. DaCosta does a wonderful job of story telling and getting the reader invested in the characters. Some twists and turns an you have this great story. The Soul Eater series was no exception! Loved how Ace Dante - the bad boy who fought to be and do good- emerged victorious against the other gods. I couldn't put it down! Quite possibly, one of the greatest stories I've ever read.
I hope to run into Ace and his friends again someday. I am especially interested in his daughter's tale. This can not be the end of the Dark. For how can the Light survive without it? Wow At first I was like really, that's how it goes but with the great story telling it just flowed and made sense. I figured out the ferry man and loved the ending. Definitely reading more from this author.
Oct 12, Tina Bartz rated it it was amazing. I loved this last book in the Soul Eater series. It was an action-packed fast read chock full of twists and turns. Although this one is super funny, it's not as hilarious as the others. We got a lot more in this story. Manning is trying to do right by Gracie and his family and marry his betrothed, Gracie refuses to let that happen and makes it her mission to save Manning's happiness, even if it isn't with her.
At fi Once again Pippa Grant brings back her signature humour and takes us on a royal ride with Gracie and Manning. At first, Gracie comes off as too nice. She finds her steel with Manning and her baby and quickly sheds most of those. She'd make an awesome queen. Sweet and kind while also being tough. Too bad that's not in the cards for her. Manning is his incredibly irritating sexy self. We also see a lot more vulnerability in him than with the others. He's trying to do right but seems to only mess things up more.
He learns with help from Ares and Gracie. The humorous banter has you laughing out loud. The writing has you quickly turning pages. The characters have you laughing and rooting for them throughout the whole book! I'm so ready for Ares' book, he's been my favorite from book one! Apr 03, BookAddict rated it it was amazing. After I read the first book, of course, because there's no resisting catching up on Zeus and Joey's story, having had a small taste of them here. So the basic premise is this: The naughty prince behaves just a little badly, resulting in an unfortunate future heir by way of Joey's sister, Gracie, a sweet bakery owner from Alabama. Royal mayhem and Southern shenanigans ensue. And did I mention bonus epilogues?

Trust me, once you get a taste of these characters you're going to want more and more of them! These characters are endlessly entertaining, sweetly endearing, unique, quirky and larger than life. Apr 02, Jodi rated it it was amazing. Every time I read one of Pippa's books, I am astonished by how much I love her characters. And every time I finish one of her books, I am torn, because I can never decide which of them I love the best. Manning Frey is the spare heir to the spare heir, and then once again.
Having departed Stolland, under the guise of playing ice hockey in the United States, he left trouble and drama in his wake, in the form of the prime minister's daughter. Being a super-extraneous spare means playing the role of Every time I read one of Pippa's books, I am astonished by how much I love her characters. Being a super-extraneous spare means playing the role of the mischief-making playboy and Manning plays it to the hilt, always with a smile on his face.
But that cheeky grin is so often a front. It covers up turmoil and feelings and the fact that he has been betrothed, since birth, to a woman he has no desire to marry. Being born into royalty sometimes means doing things you don't want to. So Manning is willing to suck it up, and do his duty for king and country. But maybe he can let himself have just one last time to feel, really feel, before he submits to his fate? Gracie Diamonte is no prude. I mean she prints genitals on cookies for a living for chrissakes.
But as a younger sister to Joey "Fireball", she's often sheltered, protected. And living in Goat's Tit, a small, tight-knit community, she doesn't have a lot of options for dating. So when the opportunity comes to have a once in a lifetime fling with princely, handsome, Manning, she jumps on it or on him? Neither could have expected the consequences. And neither could have imagined the feelings that would develop between them. Shenanigans ensue and there will be much swooning and much snort-laughing. Gracie often refers to herself as not being smart, or not worldly.
Although in many heroines this character trait might come off as weak and whining, in Gracie it does the opposite. She questions her abilities in some areas, but recognizes her strength in others. And despite her not believing that she is clever and strong, she stands up for everyone. She is kind, she speaks her mind in order to help a friend in need, and she is a wonderful character. This book showcases Pippa's versatility as an author. She has that amazing ability to write completely over-the-top hilarity, but yet balance it with heartfelt moments, character vulnerability and a sweet romance.
She is absolutely a one-click author for me. What do you get when you mix a prince, a southern belle, dinosaurs, cookies, and a Berger twin? One hilarious, wild, royal romance!

Gracie is from Goat Tits, Alabama and owns her own scandalous cookie company. She is the best heroine ever. She has some self esteem issues when it comes to her intelligence because of her dyslexia, but she makes up for it in all other areas. She owns her personality and makes the best of everything. Mannin What do you get when you mix a prince, a southern belle, dinosaurs, cookies, and a Berger twin? Manning is a spare heir with a fate that has already been determined. He smiles to prove to the world that he is okay and can handle anything, but it is all a front.
He knows what he wants, but struggles with how to make it a reality. This romance was hilarious. The banter, wit, dialogue, and scenes will have you doubled over laughing. In this story, Gracie takes all the reins and in return saves Manning. Most of the other characters from the previous books make an appearance, but Ares plays a big part in this book. He is such a strong support system for both characters, and his loyalty makes you fall in love with him that much more. You truly get an understanding of his personality, and I cannot wait for his book.
There is a link to bonus epilogues that cannot be missed. I mean it is not too often that you get to read about dinosaurs roaming the royal castle!! Apr 04, Jen rated it it was amazing. I knew I would love that Royal Puckhead! OMG she is so perfect. This book is fighting for the number one spot with Mr. Romance cause Knox, duh , it was just so good.
If you're ever looking to literally laugh out loud while reading and at the same time sigh from all the romance, you need to jump on the Pippa train right this minute. Manning is so damn swoon worthy it's almost disgusting but not really cause he made me smile through the book , and Gracie is this little fire I knew it! Manning is so damn swoon worthy it's almost disgusting but not really cause he made me smile through the book , and Gracie is this little firecracker who has possibly the best heart a human being can have.
I adored her so much. I know I already said that, I don't care. You can feel the love coming off these two, you laugh with them, get angry with them, feel hurt with them. I guess what I'm saying is Pippa Grant can rock writing a book. So many old and NEW characters this time around and they were all instrumental in making this book rock. Elin and her screeching were hilarious, Ares was on point the entire book as was Loki , Joey was showing more of her marshmallow than normal loved it! But as always, these characters were an awesome addition. Oh right, and if you love her books, you should definitely sign up for the Pippa Report.

But Manning wants Gracie and the baby and not the life his family has planned out for him. But when the when the Royal Family arrives and families meet. Gracie decided to fight for herself and her man.
Can Manning and Gracie find a way to be together and by the time all is said and done do they even want to be together or will they just co-parent across the miles? I thoroughly enjoyed this book and Ms Grant has truly written a dandy in my humble opinion. Apr 01, Buttercup rated it it was amazing. His attention lifts back to my eyes. This is the second book by Pippa Grant I've had the pleasure of reading. I've now gone back to the beginning of her catalogue as I need more!! This book was brilliant!
From the fantastically punny title, to the hilarious characters and heartfelt storyline; I loved every minute. Royally Pucked is Manning and Gracie's story. Both characters are written brilliantly; their emotions and motives throughout the book are believable and relatable. As the story began, the two protagonists had already met and it jumped straight into the action. I thought I may struggle to get into it but it worked really well. Their backstory was explained throughout the book so there was no chance to feel as though I'd missed anything.
Love Gracie's choice of career and her inner monologues are something else One particular favourite of mine was her contemplation of mermaids due to her purchase of her sparkly green mermaid boots My favourite had to be Ares - the hunky hockey player of very few words! Manning Frey is a prince. Anyhoodle, when Gracie and Manning can no longer fight their attraction to each other, they have a blazingly hot ONS. About a month or so later, well, you can guess what comes next. Complications and hijinks ensue. And yes, romance happens.

The mildly Bad ish -A bit more Manning and Gracie time would have elevated these proceedings. The time spent apart and longing for each other would have meant more if we had seen that conversation on the golf course. Honestly, I had been hoping for it as part of a prologue for this book and was a little sad not to get it.
