Reaching the Wounded Student

Hendershott came to my school district for professional development. I was hoping to get more from this book than I got from the presentation.

2017 Reaching the Wounded Student Conference

Sadly, this isn't the case. I am currently taking his online course. I am still holding out hope that I will learn some real techniques to use in my schools. Dec 12, D L rated it it was amazing. I heard Joe speak at a conference and immediately set out to buy his book. His ideas are relevant to today's classroom and his clarification of the difference between the "at-risk" student population and wounded students is spot on. Not only does he draw from his own practical experience, but he has a way of encouraging and empowering the heart of an educator.
