A notable aspect of the grammar of Portuguese is the verb. Morphologically, more verbal inflections from classical Latin have been preserved by Portuguese than by any other major Romance language. Portuguese and Spanish share very similar grammar. Portuguese also has some grammatical innovations not found in other Romance languages except Galician and Fala:.
Portuguese is written with 26 letters of the Latin script , making use of five diacritics to denote stress, vowel height, contraction, nasalization, and etymological assibilation acute accent , circumflex , grave accent , tilde , and cedilla.

Needless to say, if you know a Romance language, it will be easier for you to learn Portuguese. While you might be able to figure out the meaning of some signage, items on a menu, etc. If you speak French well, you may find Portuguese pronunciation to be fairly easy, though much of the vocabulary will have changed substantially. To be clumsy, silly, scared, disoriented.
Wake up in a bad mood, to be grumpy. Estar com os azeites Meaning: To be in a bad mood, irritated, angry. Muitos anos a virar frangos Meaning: Someone who has a lot of experience. To have reason to be suspicious or distrust. To tell someone to get lost, or drop dead. Tirar o cavalinho da chuva Meaning: To be amazing, used when someone has exceeded expectations. Go bother someone else, bugger off. Something that requires a lot of work.
Portuguese verb HAVER
Ter muita lata Meaning: To have a lot of nerve. It is what it is, to call a spade a spade. Estou-me nas tintas Meaning:
