Later, a squadron of Trog ships was attacking an orbital battle station. Penny informs everyone Juji Station is coming up off our port side. Later the Trogs had the crew pinned down. They soon found another space ship The Rusty Turd. Will the crew be able to get back to their original destination? Only an honest one. A very well written outer space book. This could also make another great outer space movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini TV series.

Jun 08, Mike Keller rated it it was amazing. Bobby Adair's brought a new series to life with all the excitement and intrigue you love from his writings. The Grays, the Roswell aliens that introduced the world to flying saucers, have returned in force, enslaved mankind, and forced us to labor for them. Building parts for their spacecraft, and using humans as soldiers fighting in the Gray's war against their enemies, the Neanderthal-looking Troglodytes.
Cannon-fodder against the Trogs, humans are sacrificed by the millions.
Bobby spins a tale Bobby Adair's brought a new series to life with all the excitement and intrigue you love from his writings. Bobby spins a tale as exciting as only a war with aliens can be, and as thrilling as the intrigue and action of a Jack Ryan novel. His characters are realistic and anti- heroic stumbling brilliantly through the plots and lives of a defeated and degraded species.
The action is good and the story progresses awkwardly through our clueless heroes. Ordinary people doing extraordinary feats of fear-driven heroics. I know you'll enjoy this sci-fi post-apocalyptic dystopian future as much as I did. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Nov 13, Ian rated it really liked it. First off I did enjoy the book, but it was a close call!
Freedom's Fire (Freedom's Fire #1) by Bobby Adair
The begging was slow and to be fair setting out a good reason to feel the way people did. But it was bleak and maybe a tad long, but once passed that the story picked up the pace and did a better job of filling you in on some people's past as moments of distraction of thoughts at times in the story where some authors would fly past and not acknowledge probably what would happen to you or I in that place!.
I also enjoyed Bryce at the end of First off I did enjoy the book, but it was a close call! I also enjoyed Bryce at the end of the book after you Finnish reading, there's a cool bit about drinking hobo coffee! So I'm here keeping everyone alive. I kinda feel bad that I've finished the book, this must be what guilt feels like. I would add that if I had known bobby was a Zombie book author I would have skipped this book so I'm glad I only found out after. There are no zombies thankfully! Feb 13, Caroline Walker rated it really liked it Shelves: It has action, adventure, mystery and does a fairly awesome job of explaining the science behind the technological advances.
I will start off by saying this book is not appropriate for some younger readers but high school age should be ok. The adult relations are kept brief but do contain some graphic material. I loved the flow of this book and how it was fast-paced with some intermissions in the action where the protagonist would take a step back. The concept of this Fantastic science fiction! The concept of this book is very original and I like the twist that is being hinted at so far. The dynamic characterization is great and really adds some depth to the book and sets it apart from science-fiction where space ships just explode the whole time.
I'm definitely picking up the sequel for this one! Jan 30, Michelle Mellon rated it liked it. I read this as part of the Kindle version of 25 for One, the book bundle benefiting hurricane victims. It was the first book in the bundle and grabbed me from the first page. I was all-in with Adair's bleak view of alien invasion and human subjugation, and cheering for the rebels to prevail.
Unfortunately, the book's ending was too abrupt for me. I was just feeling like I really knew and liked the characters and was waiting for their next challenge when things ended with an "until next time I've read plenty of other series openers that left me feeling more satisfied at the conclusion.

That being said, the book was well written, and I might get over my disappointment enough to continue the series. May 15, Carol rated it it was amazing. Always loved Booby Adair's zombie books.. The aliens invade earth Grays, LOL - a touch of the zombie there then other aliens attack them and, of course, the earthlings rebel and there the story starts to get interesting. Love his characters, the good and the not-so-good.. Read a preview Freedom's Seige that is available as a freebie to people on his mailing list and there is a link to it at the end of this book.
Well worth the read! Straight away bought 1 and Book 2 and pre-ordered Book 3. May 17, Todd Gutschow rated it really liked it. Well done sci-fi After starting three series and copping out on the first book in each one I was very eager to find something decent. This is right up my alley. Good story, good setting, great action, interesting characters, and the most important "underdog earthlings battle superior aliens" theme. If you like the type of military sci-fi that focuses on "getting back at those damn aliens" then this book will work for you. Not overly techie or cerebral Can't wait t Well done sci-fi After starting three series and copping out on the first book in each one I was very eager to find something decent.
Can't wait to start book number two. Oct 17, Patrick Barnes rated it it was amazing. Tense action Most realistic near future infantry action that I've ever read. The backstory for this universe is logical, clear, and as dark as real life. I've been disappointed by other series when they start out interesting but I really doubt this series will let you down. These may not be the heroes that you expected but they seem to be the ones humanity definite! Quoting shamelessly from "Nobility" and apologize I sort of got carried away.
You will like this book. Aug 01, Billy Mullins rated it it was amazing. From when Zed woke up in an Austin I remember well and recognize right through to the shitty ending of book 9 yeah, I know there couldn't have been a "happily ever after" but Zed endured SO much shit I wanted him to find a little bit of happiness it was a good read. Get "Freedom's Fire" and join the fun! Oct 03, Alex rated it it was ok. As a huge fan of Bobby Adair's 'Zombie' fiction I have to say I was disappointed by this generic and bland expansion into the sci-fi military genre. As a 99p buy it's worth picking up though - and I'll be getting the sequels when they get to be that price, but not before.
Hopefully the hackneyed story will have improved by then Bobby turned over on his other side and covered his eyes with his arm. Now nothing more distracted him and he hoped to be able to sleep. But his ears registered a variety of noises and voices all the more sharply. He heard the distant growling of a grisly bear, the rattling of a rattlesnake, the scratching and gnawing of a polecat. But it was the sound of the wings of an enormous bird of prey beating slowly in the air which made him sit up with a jerk. Bobby opened his eyes wide, but instead of a bird, he saw a ragged black cloud about to darken the moon.
It looked like sinister Mr Jim making off towards the east. Bobby saw the familiar beak-shaped nose clearly outlined against the bright disk of the moon. Bobby leaped quickly to his feet; an ominous presentiment took hold of him. His Marygold was in danger - he had to go to her rescue without delay. The new day dawned - a thin trail of smoke arose from the dying fire - Bobby made off. Three Indians equipped for war with bows and arrows, knives and tomahawks crept up on him soundlessly zig-zag-zug!
Bobby went on his way taking steep, narrow paths through rugged rocky gorges, quite unaware of the danger. The Indians remained on the heels of the paleface like cats. The world was taking a holiday! Bobby felt a wave of gratitude arise in his poet's heart:. Oh, lovely nature's peace and quiet - Let us escape the old world's riot, Then Bobby couldn't work out what it was - a stone? He turned round, looked and listened - not a person, not a bird to be seen.
Bobby continued on and once again all sorts of things inspired him to compose more verse:.
Romantic sentiments enthrall One's spirit at this waterfall. Even the blossoms raise their glance, Watching the droplets' sprightly dance. Meanwhile the Indians had adopted a strategy of encirclement. The third man had climbed up to the top of a cliff and was poised over Bobby's head. The redskins were now surrounding the young man. One of the two positioned behind him now raised his tomahawk and threw it - chop!
But it so happened that just at that moment he had bent down to pick a few flowers. The sharp hatchet flew over Bobby and the third Indian, who was peering out from behind a rock, got hit right in the middle of his forehead. He fell without a sound into his hiding place and died instantly. Bobby had not noticed a thing; he stuck the flowers into the top of his waistcoat and continued on his way. But the narrow path came to an end and all at once he found himself standing on the brink of a yawning abyss. D and Pauline Carson B.
