He shook his head immediately. Terri had done a lot for him tonight, just giving him a place to unload. She smiled up at him. She pulled on his hand, drawing him into the apartment. And when the door closed, he found his hands were on her waist, his mouth seeking her mouth. And he was gone. Brain freeze took over. He had no judgment, no willpower. He was all raw need and pain and gratitude. Before a whole minute had passed, he had Terri down on the couch, kissing her, touching her, hearing her say, yes, yes, yes, yes.

He had one moment of sanity before he slipped his hand under her knit shirt. He was all physical sensation. He was hard; she was soft. He was desperate, she was hot and willing, and beneath him she seemed as needy as he felt. He ground against her, her bare breast in his hand, his tongue licking its way along her neck. Her hands were on his belt buckle, then his zipper; his hands were tugging at her clothes while she squirmed and moaned. His lips were on her nipple; her hand wrapped around him and he almost lost it.

Paul felt his pulse slow just slightly.

The first thing he felt, while he panted and tried to catch his breath, was overwhelming relief. Basic, primal, physical relief, as potent as a narcotic. The next thing he felt was regret. Even though they had an understanding he could sense that she cared about him. Why else would she listen to him with such sensitivity; draw him inside and welcome this encounter.

Haggerty, you are a brainless fool! But he put a hand against the hair at her temple and brushed it back over her ear while she drifted slowly back to earth and her eyes opened. He held his weight off her and even though he felt stupid and guilty, he managed to smile at her. And as long as that was the case, it was wrong for him to be intimate with Terri. She was a good person. Maybe it wouldn't of been so bad if she had enjoyed the kiss but another couple of seconds she would have bashed the fool.

Now, she has caused a scandal and of course some like to really rub it in. At a family meeting, her mother was trying to figure out what to do I received this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. At a family meeting, her mother was trying to figure out what to do about the situation. Her brother-in-law Wolf comes up with the solution to have Edie and her mother go to Scotland with his good friend Alec for the winter. Alec has been away from home for 10 years. He has fought in wars, worked in foreign countries and been a spy. His father has visited and told him it is time for him to return home and fulfill his role as Master of Riddick.

His grandfather is getting on in years and isn't well. He doesn't want to go home. His grandfather betrothed him to his cousin Donella and he doesn't want to marry her, he never did. She captured his attention from the moment he met her. She is beautiful, smart and sassy. So, he isn't all that upset when Wolf makes the suggestion.

He now has several weeks to work on her and see if here feeling are anything like his are. Edie finds Alec attractive but they always seem to be at odds with one another. All the women like him and their mommas love him and his money! She just doesn't know if this trip is the answer. I did enjoy this book. I think Edie was at odds with Alec so much because of her attraction to him. She didn't know if the trip to Scotland was a good idea but she didn't have a choice in the matter.

Her twin Evie was a bit more subdued just a bit that Edie. They are identical twins and are very close. Her recent marriage and her moving to her own home has shaken up Edie, as I am sure it affected Evie too. Lady Reese, her mother was a piece of work.

She was a typical snobbish aristocrat in her complaints but in the end she was a real surprise and we got to know the real woman and mother. Then of course we have the family of Alec. His Grandfather is blustery and opinionated. He was very upset when Alec left as he loved him. Alec's father is a scholarly man, basically a good man.

He loved Alec's mother deeply. His cousin Fergus is the Steward and caretaker of the Castle and land. He is very upset that Alec ran out on his sister. Aunt Glennie, Fergus and Donella's mother is dramatic and a witch. We all know about the history between Scotland and England but she was brutal to Edie and her mother. Donella, the bride to be, is a lovely young woman, She is more quiet and serene.

She is the only of her family to show Edie and her mother any kind of respect, I think the characters are very well defined. The writing is very good because I could get a visual in my mind of almost everything I read. I would recommend this book, it is a great read. Together the three of them travel north, of course not without complications. There is something I loved about this story without knowing the other parts in this series — Eden is pretty blind without glasses. Even having a busy time right now with work and so, I went through this book rather quickly and I loved it, I absolutely loved it. Of course thing get complicated in the North and there is one or the other intrigue and family quarrels. But that makes the book so lovely. The cover is much too trashy in my opinion. L ovely and lively: I knew I was in for a good time from the moment both Edie and Alec interacted. They had chemistry, wicked good banter, and I absolutely adored them together. The Renegade Royals series has such a great premise: In this case, Alec is the illegitimate son of the Duke of Kent. I found this twist to be fascinating Ahhhh I found this twist to be fascinating and dangerous to those involved, which always makes for good reading. I love Scotland, but have found that many books set there leave me disappointed blame it on the high standard set by Outlander.

So not the case with this book! From alluding of the relations between English and Scottish, to the setting, castle, brogue and kilt, I feel that Kelly used this wonderful land to her advantage. Everything about How to Marry was endearing. I love how Alec was halfway in love with Edie from the beginning.

I loved that Alec insisted Edie wear glasses, though she's insistent they'll make her seem frumpy. I loved that the two managed to find a way together despite everything standing in their way. I even loved Edie's badass Mamma. I'm do glad How to Marry a Royal Highlander came my way. It didn't even matter that it was the last in the series; that only made me want to read the entire series, pronto. If you're looking for absolutely entertaining, steamy and sweet Historical Romance, give it a go.

I really enjoyed the latest treasure written by a most talented author. Ms Kelly has out done herself with this spectacular book. The characters were engaging and real. Lots of drama going on with the hero who really doesn't want to be. Alasdair Gilbride is handsome, brawny, and so likeable. He has been a spy for the crown and has at last come back to London to see what's up. He takes the advice of his closest friend and decides to go home to Scotland. He has responsibilities at home with him being the heir to the Scottish earldom. He really isn't into going, but with his oh so attractive traveling companion, Alasdair doesn't complain. Eden Whitney, along with her mother, travel with Alasdair to his home. Eden's escapades have banished her from London to begin her rusticating from all the temptations that surround her.

Even though Eden will miss her life there, she hopes that Alasdair's family won't be angry at him for inviting her. Alasdair can be a troublesome man who gets on her nerves, but she won't hold back her voice when certain people try to dictate to her. But along the way things change between them with lots of kisses turn into sensual abandon that leaves both of them breathless.

The characters were all off the chart well done I also liked the way this author was able to give the reader one hot steamy highlander romance story as the heroine and hero are brought together in their lively interaction throughout the read. Who knew that a horrible kiss and being snubbed by the ton would cause such a uproar that would force Edie to have to leave London for the Highlands. And that there would be plans by Edie's mom to start some match making for Edie. I found this read not only fascinating and entertaining with a good depth, a great plot but also a well paced read that will definitely keep your attention all the way till the end.

He's handsome, wealthy, an Earl and a great hero. Alasdair takes his friends advise and decides it's time to go home and face the family and drama. Lady Reese has decided that Alasdair is a perfect match for her daughter and thinks that Scotland is just the perfect place for Eden's "vacation away". Alasdair and Eden, wow sparks fly between these two and the dialogue is wonderful engaging. I really liked how these two communicated and had such an adult and honest relationship.

I enjoyed both characters and how their relationship developed and progressed. Very well written and well paced romance. I enjoyed all the characters and how well developed they all where. Edie, the more out going of the Whitney twins, has been caught kissing a complete rake by one of the biggest gossips who of cause has told everyone, which resulted Edie being snubbed and she just had to make it worse for herself by causing a scene. Her mother then decides the only thing to do is leave to London for the winter to let the gossip settle down and a trip the Highlands with her brother-in-laws friend Alec is just the ticket, also he might make a good match What a fun story, I loved it. Alec is pleased to escort Edie to his home in the Highlands, even if it is a little cold and drafty in the winter. He was on his way home anyway as he has a little problem he has been putting off for quite a while now and also he's decided Edie would make him a wonderful companion and wife, he just has to convince her. This a very entertaining story. The characters were fun, the bantering between Alec and Edie was great. The story was an amazingly fast read for me, I couldn't put it down, and one of my favourite characters had to be Edie's mom, she just got funnier as book progressed.

A great addition to the series. I highly recommend it! Jun 02, Nicole Laverdure rated it it was amazing. Eden and Alec are fun with their constant bickering and barely concealed attraction. Eden gets herself caught up in a scandal and is banished for the winter to ride it out.

How have I not read anything by Vanessa Kelly before? I know she's on my tbr. I may even already own some of her books. Well, I'll definitely be digging them our cause I loved this book!

The banter between Alec and Edie was great! Alec was suave and charming and Edie would get him so twisted cause he had feelings for her. It was refreshing to see the hero get tongue tied and say the wrong thing. Edie's mom was a great secondary character. She put a smile on my face: ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley Jun 27, Annie rated it liked it. Alec and Edie were a hoot and their banter lightened up the book. Special mention to Edie's mother, her antics and comments made me laugh out loud.

She was haughty but really loving and loyal it was great. Let me tell you that I actually liked Eden more than her sister Evelyn. Yes, I know that they are twins, but Edie just seem to have more outgoing personality. Kind of larger than life, while Evie was a little more down to earth and kept Edie grounded. Now we have Edie trying to make it on her own without her sister being constantly near by. We actually come to find out that more about Edie and Evie from this one quote: People believed that Edie was the strong and fearless twin, ready to challenge the world but she knew better.

Evelyn had true courage--inner steel that enabled her to stand for things that really counted. Actually, Edie drew strength from Evie, especially when there mother would pick on Evie, and you watch Edie challenge her mother. Anyway, Edie does something stupid like get caught in a compromising position caught kissing with Sir Malcolm and basically he flees the scene and her reputation is in ruins.

However, she believes her popularity, attitude, and family can protect her from a tatters reputation.

But I'm starting to let my guard down, my untrusting heart beginning to think that maybe fairy tales do come true. What's better than one sexy book? Four romance novels - packaged into one delicious audio bundle, narrated by Sebastian York! Greyson comes home from deployment to live the life she and her husband Caden dreamed of.

But soon after she comes home, he starts hearing whispers. Someone else loves her. Someone else wants her. Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes. I didn't know or care what her name was. Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man. She hates me, and she should. I objected on her wedding day.

Now she's home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there's no ring on her finger. They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after, but I'm not done with Whitney Gable. From the moment I saw her through the window of her flower shop, something other than darkness took root inside me. Charlie shone like a beacon in a world that had long since lost any light.

But she was never meant for me, a man that killed without remorse and collected bounties drenched in blood. I thought staying away would keep her safe, would shield her from me. Danger followed in my wake like death at a slaughter house.

She knows her attraction may be her undoing, but the spellbinding feelings render her powerless to resist his advances.

What Mia cannot know is that Enthrall's dashing director, year-old Cameron Cole, who is also the club's psychiatrist, has lured Mia to save his best friend and patient Richard from his obsession with thrill seeking. Passion and pleasure stir, forming a dangerous love triangle. This is the world of the forbidden. This is the embrace of Enthrall. As you are lead through innocent Mia's journey to work at Enthrall, you quickly see that there is a much bigger story than what's on the surface.

I very much enjoyed the psychological aspect of this book and look forward to where it can go in Enthrall Her. The narration was good but there were many times that there was no pause between characters switching and I was confused as to who was saying what. I feel like there is room to grow there. I made it to chapter 13, but I can't take it anymore.

The characters are unrealistic in the extreme, the pacing makes it hard to even try to find something to identify with. The performance is also flat and amplifies the bad writing. Had a very difficult time connecting with the leading lady. Not sure if it is the narrator or the character development. The men in the story kept me interested and instilled a need to finish.

Like Cole as an Alpha Dom. I can never understand why people read about what a story is suppose to be about. They get on the reviews and proceed to rip the story apart. First of all this is a fantasy story. However yes, club or no club there is a bdsm lifestyle. The narrator should probably work on changing voices a little better. It was hard tho figure out who was talking in a few places. Other wise nice clear understandable voice. Which is very important too.

I would like to point out that while Cameron did manipulate the situation to get Mia in the building so to speak. Mia herself initiated the relationship with Richard after her first contact. I love how the relationships developed and how bdsm help Richard rather than him doing it because he was mentally ill. I think Mia agreed with her eyes open. Finding her home and her guys. Enthrall was amazing and totally sucked me in! It was definitely not what I was expecting in the best way possible!
