They were there when we needed anything and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and were comfortable. I cannot recommend highly enough! We loved staying here. The pictures and description of the home were very accurate. Having the bikes to explore the area was such an added benefit.
The location of house made it convenient to take the bus to Manzanillo or Puerto Viejo and beyond. Iwan is such a great cook. We ate there several times during our stay and everything we ordered was exceptional. Since the food can get a little boring in Costa Rica, do yourself a favor and eat at their restaurant at least once. We definitely recommend their home! A peaceful retreat, gorgeous house and very nice hosts. You should stay at this place! The hosts run a restaurant too and they know how to cook delicious meals.
You should definitely stay at this place! Jeny and Iwan's place was wonderful! We highly recommend it. The house is private and set into the beauty for the area. Everything was secure and safe. The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Jeny and Iwan were kind and helpful throughout our trip. Our stay here at Jungle Love was amazing! The hosts were very friendly and made us feel at home right away. They made sure everything was running smoothly and helped us out whenever we needed it. The house was beautiful, comfortable and with a great location.
A short walk to the beach and a quick bike ride to the town. The house is also next to a super market which made our access to food much easier. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone who is seeking for a place to stay! Bugs will be around this house, and water access is very limited for about 5 hours during the day. Porch is awesome and furniture. Carla's place is both hidden away amongst lot of trees yet has easy access to the main road and the beaches. You will hear lots of howler monkeys and see wildlife too sitting on the front porch.
Wifi is not as fast in other places but there is a good cafe within walking distance. We stayed for 3 weeks and loved every minute. We had a great time. The house is is nice , quite place sorrounded by nature. You can go to the best beaches from there by bike or car or even walking. Has an spacious kitchen that allowed us to cook our own stuff with total comfort.

We were promptly received by Daniel, it was easy to get there as it is just 25 meters away from the main road. Beach is nearby and a very good supermarket and bike rental just across the main street. We were surprised by different animals wandering around the property, monkeys, raccoons, sloths, birds, and butterflies. Sitting on the porch to watch this show is a great experience. Daniel, the housekeeper was very friendly and available for us. When you stay at Ezequiel you should ask for telephone no. You should also ask for precise indications of how to find the cabin since it is a bit hidden and there are no signpost.
Be prepared to wake up during the night to the sound of the jungle - howler monkeys and the neighbours cockroaches and dogs, sometimes they were quite a nuicance. Bring your own mosquitonet since Ezequiel has not installed any. Kitchen and dining room is open to the jungle so you may have to clean it in the morning to get rid of insect and other dirt gathered during the day and night before. Otherwise you will have an incedible fine time with beautiful beaches and shopping and dining nearbay. Daniel who is the caretaker is a well of information. We stayed at Casa Tiffany from Septemb Phone number hidden by Airbnb and loved the atmosphere of this beautiful property that is tucked away on a quiet little street.
For us it was close enough to puerto viejo 10 min by car to enjoy the amazing restaurants and amenities of the "city", yet far enough away to truly experience living in the jungle. We were a 5 min walk to Playa chiquita beach, 10 min bike ride to Punta Uva and 30 min bike ride to Manzanillo, so very central to everything. There were four of us traveling two couples and were very happy with the layout of the house. The common areas were spacious and both bedrooms were large with private bathrooms. This didnt matter us as we planned to experience the amazing food offered at local restaurants.
I have never been to such a small place with as many diverse restaurants. The four of us love good food and trying new places. This is a foodies haven! I think the best part of the house is the gorgeous pool that is surrounded by lush Jungle. It was the perfect place to lounge and read a book. This house is in the jungle so you need to be prepared for that. The house is on a communal water system so sometimes the water pressure isnt great and we only had hot water for the first day of our trip, after that it was cool showers which wasn't so bad.
We were also hit with a nasty storm on our first day that knocked out the electricity for 32 hours. My only complaint was that there were no flaslights, candles or matches in the house for a situation like this and we werent contaced by any of the property managers. When we were able to reach Mao he did bring us over these items and luckily we had them because we lost electricity again on our last night.

We thought this was an uncommon event but found out after talking to locals that they lose electricity very frequently. Monica and Nathalia were great hosts. They were very helpful in giving us tips while we were planning our vacation and responded very quickly to any questions. The three dogs next door Mya, Ruby and Dandan also took good care of us for the week!!! Thanks for a great trip! I would highly recommend casa Tiffany if you are looking for a quite, relaxing home nestled in the Jungle. A beautiful place in Playa chiquita. A perfect spot to relax! Short walk to the main road and beach.
Amenities in the house were excellent - all the basics provided and the pool area was amazing. We are very disapointed about that stay. It is way too expensive for what it is. Even for half of the price you could get better. Yes the ''villa'' looked nice, but it was the only nice thing, the look Some equipments were broken, the kitchen has mold, the toilet smelled bad in the whole appartment, the couches felt like rocks, not comfortables at all, the ''villa'', that is more like a cabin, was not isolated at all. A lot of worms, mosquittos and other insects were coming inside the house under and beside the stairs, doors or windows.
The washing machine broke my boyfriend new sweater. We saw Fernanda only for the welcome. She arrived late and did'nt answered our questions on the activities to do around and were to get some food. She didn't even came back to pick up to key. We had to leave it under the carpet. Well, we thought that paying more for a ''villa'' that looked really nice on pictures could give us a really good trip, but instead we wished we stayed at the other Airbnb we rented in Cahuita.
This Airbnb is more of a business than a welcoming place. You pay an expensive price for no service. I hope that they will make some changes for their futur guests or reduce their price. Yes I feel bad and sorry for giving such a bad review, but at least I'm honest and it represent exactly how we felt during our vacations in that place. Luxury villa at a good location in the middle between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo both 10 min driving distance.
The spacious pool is surrounded by a lush tropical garden, check-in and check-out, as well as the communication with the management trouble-free: Had a great stay at Casa Tiffany! The hosts also did a great job of responding to requests and making sure our transportation went smoothly. Great communication before, during and even after. Great place to stay, nice location, perfect host, should have booked it the entire Costa Rican holiday The pictures do not do this house justice.
The house is close to other houses, but feels so private with the beautiful trees and landscaping. The house is incredibly spacious, and the kitchen is fairly well equipped. We rented a car, but the house is within a 10 minute walk from a small grocery store El Duende, which makes fabulous pastries! Our favourite beach was Punta UVA, which is about a min. We would most definitely return! Great market across the street and bicycle rental just 50 meters away. My best friend and I came here and had an absolute wonderful stay. He met us at the grocery store across the street and led us to our little bungalow.
It was absolutely immaculate, the beds were incredibly comfy and the place spotless. The beach is maybe at most a four minute walk. I would recommend walking down to the wildlife reserve just about 2 miles away. We had a problem with the lights in the pool, we text Marcos and he had someone out literally within 10 minutes come. My group of 10 reserved Zen and Bodhi house for our 4-night stay in Puerto Viejo. Communication after booking and before arriving was simple and timely.
Property manager can help you book excursions, and even arrange for a rental car to be delivered to the house. Houses and grounds were very clean and secure. Great restaurants nearby including Gula right across the street. Only the bedrooms are air conditioned, and the rest of the rooms have screen windows and fans to help with air flow. Super short walk to a fairly secluded beach. Maid service came once during our stay and cleaned everything nicely.
I recommend getting a rental car or renting bikes to get to town. All around a fantastic find. I would certainly stay here again! It was really cute and different and a perfect place to stay and spend the weekend with my group of 5. Everything was lovely and perfectly as described. A quick walk to the beach and nice, private, clean bungalow! Our host was super attentive to all our needs and requests: The house was very close to the beach and the garden in the yard made me feel so blissful, especially when the sunlight kissed all the colorful flowers around the house.
We didn't get to meet her but her aunt and uncle stayed in the place above us and they were extremely helpful and nice! They even let us use their bicycles to ride to town and get groceries. Overall, my stay in Cocles was breathtaking! A wonderful location that is a min or so walk to a beautiful and quiet part of the beach.
The house is a bang for the buck without a doubt! Note there is no hot water, but amazing for the price. I was very pleased. It is a great house! It really is in a great location! I've been to Puerto Viejo several times and this location can't be beat. The beach which is less than 40 meters from the house is one of the best beaches in Costa Rica. Punta Uva is very close and the center of Puerto Viejo is 4. You are close enough to everything, yet you feel like you are in your own little paradise. Gregory is a great host! My family and I look forward to staying at his beautiful house.
So great to be close to the amazing beach where we were often the only ones swimming. The house is sizable, safe and typical of the area. The fans on the porches were super awesome and especially great for evening relaxation in the hammocks chilling in the humidity. A beautiful property with a super host. Great spot located right near the beach. Larger home area with nice balcony space. Right along the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Great location, very responsive host. Everything went excellent but we had little or no water during most of our stay. Ten of us had a wonderful experience staying at Colores del Caribe! Each morning was filled with the incredible sounds of the jungle as the Howler monkeys wandered through the trees above. And each day was a new adventure. We could sit on the front porch and watch sloths, monkeys, iguanas, etc.
The location is ideal. It is in the jungle yet just a short walk to the beach. We were able to rent bicycles and easily travelled throughout the area. There are shops, restaurants, and stores within walking distance. The houses are new, clean and well kept. They are comfortable and well equipped. The houses are securely locked behind gates.

Cocles is the undiscovered gem of Talamanca, 5 km 3 miles south of the relaxed bustle of Puerto Viejo de Limon. Lots of space on two floors: Upstairs is the large bedroom with air conditioning and a full bathroom with shower.
Downstairs is a an ample living space with a sofa bed for an extra person and a fully-equipped open-plan kitchen stove, oven, blender, coffee maker, etc. There is one laptop size safe for your valuables. Also there is a spacious terrace with hammocks downstairs looking into our tropical garden. The house has WIFI and parking on our secure parking lot. A good handful of restaurants and bars are in walking distance. The Jaguar Rescue Center is a 10 minute bike ride from the property. Jungle Love House, A Large beautiful home for 2. Casa acogedora, fresca y luminosa. The house is very esthetic and the bathrooms attached to every bedroom were very beautiful and enabled the 4 of us staying in the house to enjoy privacy. Rachel and Bud made some recommendation for excursions, restaurants and beaches which were all very helpful. Everything was flawless, including our communications with Rachel which were very informative.
We definitely recommend staying at the Perezoso. It will make your Costa Rica trip perfect. The area of Ojochol is rich with tropical beauty, the beaches are gorgeous, the restaurants are great. We especially enjoyed the local beach of Ventanas, the whale tale beach, and many others. There are different places to see sunsets from, such as the views from Rancho Remo and la Cusinga Lodge.

But, at the end of the day, the best was hanging out in this house!! Thank you Rachel and Bud for creating this magical space and opening it for others. Dieter and Batya, Kevin and Leah. It was peaceful, comfortable, and in a central location for taking advantage of all the area has to offer! They had really helpful tips for activities in the area, and when we were not off on adventures most which were their suggestions , we relaxed by the pool or on the furniture on the expansive patio.
The views of the jungle, ocean, morning mist, and evening sunsets were spectacular. Rachel was FAST in responding to any questions or concerns. Just relaxing on the deck watching the rain forest, swimming in the pool, enjoying all the outside space or being able to walk to two great restaurants and the French bakery. We did lots of exploring beaches, kayaks, snorkelling, nature walks and lunches in Dominical but it was lovely to come back to the tranquility of the house. Rachel was incredibly helpful on email and the house book has lots of good ideas.
This is an amazing place! The view, the pool and the house has so many space! We loved the beds, the sheets and the towels. Very nice beaches in the neighbourhood and wonderfull restaurants on walking distance! We stayed here 5 nights and we were very sad to leave! The house is impeccable and well located near beautiful beaches and close to Sierpe where one can discover Corcovado National Park and the history of the pre-Colombian civilization.
The house is gorgeous, with amazing views, a superb pool and all you need to cook and enjoy la pura vida! This house was a great value in a great location - in the mountains with beautiful ocean views but only a short drive to some of our favorite beaches in the area. The bedrooms were comfortable and there were plenty of linens and towels. The pool and grounds are gorgeous and the house has great open air design features. Bud and Rachel were super responsive to our questions and we felt in good hands. Rachel and Bud's house is beautiful.
The photos are accurate and location is in a lovely, tucked away coastal area of Costa Rica. We enjoyed the pool, outdoor dining area and fully equipped kitchen. Make sure you go to the farmer's market in Dominical on Saturday fresh fish, humous, earrings and the Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary. You can have lunch at the sanctuary, hang out poolside and then take a tour.
Great place to stay off the beaten path with a beautiful view and everything you needed to explore the area like a local. Edward's place is absolutely incredible. My family and I group of 5 stayed there for 6 nights and could not have been happier. The place is spacious sleeps 8 comfortably , private at the end of a road , and the scenery cannot be beat private pool overlooking Costa Rica's south pacific coast. Some may find getting there a little difficult.
For first arrivals it is about 20 minutes from the main road, driving up into the mountains. Do not let this stop you. It's a small price to pay for the comfort and privacy of Edward's place. Within driving distance are Manuel Antonio, Dominical, Uvita, Sierpe, and even Drake Bay do not attempt this drive without 4x4 - not to mention the countless beaches and waterfalls. Edward was prompt with all replies and even though he was not in Costa Rica at the time, he did everything possible to make sure our stay was nothing short of perfect.
The best recommendation I can give is to say that I will definitely be back! This place is amazing! Stunning views and awesome birds and critters to see. The restaurants in the area are really top notch! There is a French bakery when you first enter the community that is so delicious. We ate there 3 times! Also, Bamboo is such a fun place. Exotica is definitely top notch. The food was absolutely made with love!
Everyone loved their dish! Uvita is a pretty close drive, and the beaches were lovely there. You were amazing at responding to my questions! I just two weeks here at Edward's place and it was great. This was perfect for the kind of trip we wanted. It was quiet, the pool and view were amazing. This place isn't "in the middle of everything".
If that's what you want this is probably the wrong house. If you want to escape and have access to good restaurants and the beach, then you're set. A couple of days we didn't even leave the house, just relaxed by the pool, read and enjoyed the sounds of the wildlife all over. You will definitely want some kind of SUV or truck, the drive up would be annoying in a car maybe impossible if there was a really hard rain. I loved staying here and will definitely consider staying again if I make future trips to Costa Rica. We truly had a wonderful thanksgiving with our closest group of friends.

So relaxing, stunning, and enchanting all at once. Definitely need a 4x4 to get a car down to the house but totally worth it, honestly a lot of places we went including 5 star hotels in the area you needed a 4x4. Some north and some south, he has great recommendations. Plus we got to watch the geckos on the walls at night while we relaxed and swam.
Eric's place is absolute perfection! The pictures of the place are really great, but the reality is even better! The outside living room and dining room area overlooking the pool is really well done, and the bedrooms are gorgeous the decor is nice, the ACs in each bedroom work well, and the beds are really comfortable.

The view from the pool of the mountains fast moving clouds, rain showers, the gardened landscape, numerous bird species, etc. The pool is huge, clean, and so refreshing. Eric was a wonderful host with superb communication fast, thorough, and thoughtful ; he also provided "extras" that were much appreciated.
No detail was left undone. Eric has an amazing place, the view is spectacular, there are a bunch of nice touches like snacks and wine, and the linens are top notch. Also, Eric is lightning fast on his responses, which helped tremendously. Having an outdoor living experience with the kitchen and living room outside felt very special. We thought we'd be ok given it was the dry season, but the driveway is seriously steep. The wish we knew stuff: For those who have children, the two bedrooms are separated with a bathroom in between. Ours were a bit scared at times, but it turned out not to be a big deal.
Just something to consider. Thanks for an amazing intro to Costa Rica. It was magnifique and exceeded our expectations. The pool was perfect, the bedrooms very comfortable, shower was beautiful and worked great and everything was well very appointed. We were blown away by how well thought out everything was, from the design of the place to the amenities and goodies we were provided on arrival. Furthermore, Ojochal is a lovely town with everything you might need. There are small grocery shops 2 mins away with everything you need, but the restaurants in Ojochal are so delicious better than everywhere else we travelled in CR , you might not end up cooking so much at home, which is a shame, because the kitchen is very well equipped!

Angie is very nice person and on top of things. She made our stay very pleasant. Pads in Paradise is a great place. The views are amazing and the house is very nice. The access road is in rough shape, so a 4X4 is a must in the rainy season. Angie was very helpful and available to answer all our question. The house alarm system is a bit confusing.
My family of 4 stayed here Dec th. The Villas were absolutely beautiful and serene. The rooms were spacious and very accommodating and clean. We loved our Villa view and there was air conditioning but only in the upper level bedroom with the bathroom, which we kept the door closed to so that we had a cooler room we could escape to if we got too hot while there. The pool was refreshing and clean. For Christmas Rosemary arranged a Christmas potluck dinner with some locals, firiends and guests. It was really special having a traditional some what non traditional Christmas dinner on one of the balconys of the Villas looking out over the tranquil jungle view next to the pool.
Rosemary was very kind and her dogs were adorable.
THe wifi was spotty and the refrigerator was a little one so if you are planning on cooking for yourself bring limited food items, but there is a store just down the road. The only regret I had was that I didnt have a chance to chat with Rosemary more before our departure. And that is where we found the ticks We will stay again if we stay in Uvita. I would highly suggest this rental during your stay in Costa Rica. Had an amazing time staying at the mango villa. It was relaxing and quiet - absolutely surreal. The space in the villas are large and open.

She has done more in her life than most people. She built this place, and oh my, what a place. We were deep in the jungle, so quiet except the birds. We took a night time swim in the beautiful pool. We stayed in July, and that's off time in Costa Rica, so we were the only ones there.
We had a small economy car, and it had rained. We had a very slow drive missing the potholes, and her driveway was iffy going up, but we did it. A 4x4 would have been perfect. The villas were large 1 bedroom apartments, with anything you can imagine, except TV.
Who needs a TV when you have all this beauty. It would just ruin the serenity. We did cheat had check our emails, and the wifi worked perfect. Rosemary and her Mango tree villas, is a gem in the wild. The Mango Villas and Rosemary were both great! It is a truly magical place. It's just a really beautiful place and it's everything Rosemary says it is.
The views from the villas is amazing. If you are a bird watcher, you can spend a whole week just looking from one of the porches. You are above the trees in many places and so you see eye to eye with the birds instead of craning you neck to look up. I had requested an air conditioned villa and the AC worked great. The place is very clean and I highly recommend a visit.

There is lots to see in that park of CR. But, I soon found out that all the other unpaved roads in CR and the same. Once you get used to it, it's fine. But if you have not driven on back roads in CR be prepared. The property is gorgeous! Loved the pool area and the doggies who followed me around. The villa I stayed in was comfy and had a beautiful view of the rainforest. Id definitely come back here again.

We were a little nervous since there were no previous reviews as the house was brand new but there was no need to worry as everything was perfect! The property manager, Mike, met us along the main road at 9: The house is located a ways up a steep and rocky dirt road. But we learned that ALL the roads up into the mountains are this way.
The manager, Mike, really put us at ease. We had spoken with him a couple of times before our arrival and he helped shape our itinerary. But, most importantly, because we were kind of remote, it was reassuring to have such a friendly and capable guy not too far away. He also set up a few of our expeditions like surf lessons and a trip down to Corcovado.
Everything in the house was in pristine condition because it was new. I was worried about bugs etc. The house is pretty airtight! There were 2 bedrooms and the beds were very comfortable. There was a lot of closet space. We have 2 teens so one took the other bedroom and the other slept on the couch in the living room which did not pull out but they had sheets for. The bathrooms were like spas and the master bath shower has a view!. Every morning when I exited the master bedroom, it was like a dream. I could see the mountains straight out off the deck with the clouds sitting right at the top.
We would sit out on the deck every morning and just listen to the birds calling out. The first morning we were there we had 3 toucans in the trees right off the deck. The kitchen was very well stocked and had all the amenities. No roughing it here! The house is situated perfectly in the mountain so there was always a nice breeze out on the deck. It was perfectly comfortable to sit out there to enjoy a drink or a meal. Both bedrooms had air conditioners. The main living area did not have air conditioners, but there were ceiling fans.
Sandra was lovely to work with and very responsive. And, the property manager was really great! We cannot wait to go back! We really enjoyed this house and would recommend it to friends! The yoga studio was just perfect, and the house keepers could not have been friendlier. We have had a wonderfull time at Villas De Oros. Nice cabin in a beautifull setting.
