Mithraic feasts probably performed a very similar function for Mithraists as the collegia did for those entitled to join them; indeed, since qualification for Roman collegia tended to be restricted to particular families, localities or traditional trades, Mithraism may have functioned in part as providing clubs for the unclubbed.
However, the size of the Mithraeum is not necessarily an indication of the size of the congregation. Each Mithraeum had several altars at the further end, underneath the representation of the tauroctony, and also commonly contained considerable numbers of subsidiary altars, both in the main Mithraeum chamber and in the ante-chamber or narthex. Burned residues of animal entrails are commonly found on the main altars indicating regular sacrificial use. However, Mithraea do not commonly appear to have been provided with facilities for ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals a highly specialised function in Roman religion , and it may be presumed that a Mithraeum would have made arrangements for this service to be provided for them in co-operation with the professional victimarius of the civic cult.

It is known that intitates could transfer with their grades from one Mithraeum to another. Temples of Mithras are sunk below ground, windowless, and very distinctive. In cities, the basement of an apartment block might be converted; elsewhere they might be excavated and vaulted over, or converted from a natural cave. According to Walter Burkert, the secret character of Mithriac rituals meant that Mithraism could only be practiced within a Mithraeum.

An alternative or perhaps complementary interpretation of Yerushalayim says it was the cultic center of the Canaanite god Shalim, a deity referenced in Ugaritic mythology, which acknowledged two deities: Shahar, the god of the rising Sun, and Shalim, god of the setting Sun.
What's interesting here is that these two names, Shahar and Shalim, also refer to the planet Venus, which is the Morning and Evening Star. There's a controversial twist to this: According to Jewish sources, on the third day of Creation, Lucifer, God's chief archangel and cherub, "walked in Eden amid blazing jewels, his body a-fire" with the light of dozens of precious stones, all set in pure gold.
The Jewish sources say Lucifer aspired to enthrone himself on Saphon, the Mount of Assembly, for which ambition God cast him out of Heaven into the profound gloom of the Bottomless Pit in Sheol. As he fell from grace, Lucifer shone like lightning. The intriguing question is, if Jerusalem in some way is the Foundation of Lucifer, is it before or after he fell?
As mentioned, Solomon's Temple of Jerusalem was built from divine blueprints, transmitted to humanity by revelation. The plan was divinely revealed, and many think that the plan was the archetype of a Celestial City, the original, heavenly Jerusalem. The Temple was the "instrument of a mystical, priestly science," a cosmic temple, heavenly city, eternal standard, and world image, says John Michell, a well-regarded authority on ancient mysteries. The numbers, measures, and harmonies of the revealed plan as given to King David, Solomon's father, reflected the ideal order of the macrocosm, says Michell.
In that plan is the "key to forgotten knowledge, to the blueprint by which the universe was made, to the lost canon of number, measure, and music," used by the Egyptians and other ancient civilizations. Aldebaran, the thirteenth brightest star in our galaxy, is a first magnitude star located sixty-eight light years from Earth, forty times larger than our Sun and times more luminous. It's usually described as rosy or pale reddish-orange in color, a quality the Hindu astronomers noted in their name, Rohini, which means "the Red One" or "the Red Deer.
Its name, from the Arabic Al Dabaran, means "the Follower," or "Bright One of the Follower," a reference to how its appearance in the sky follows just after the rising of the Pleiades or perhaps the Hyades, both in Taurus; it also sets immediately following the setting of these two star clusters. Appropriately, with respect to the attributions of the Flood, tehom, and the cosmic waters to the Foundation Stone, in various cultures Aldebaran was associated with the gods of the rain and the Earth's fertility.
An interesting astronomical aspect of Aldebaran is that it is one of the few first-magnitude stars that are eclipsed regularly by our Moon, sometimes, as happened in , every month for a year. It would be a useful study to correlate the schedule of occultations by the Moon of Aldebaran with political events in Jerusalem to see if the astronomical events coincide with earthly happenings. The flag of the Isle of Man or flag of Mann Manx: It has been the official flag of Mann since 1 December and is based on the Manx coat of arms, which dates back to the 13th century. The triskelion is an ancient symbol, used by the Mycenaeans and the Lycians. It is not known for certain why the symbol was originally adopted on the Isle of Man. Before its adoption in , the official flag of the Isle of Man was the Union Jack. A triskelion or triskele is a motif consisting of a triple spiral exhibiting rotational symmetry. The spiral design can be based on interlocking Archimedean spirals, or represent three bent human legs.
A triskelion is a traditional symbol of Sicily, where it is called trinacria, and of the Isle of Man. The triskelion symbol appears in many early cultures, the first in Malta — BC and in the astronomical calendar at the famous megalithic tomb of Newgrange in Ireland built around BC,[6] Mycenaean vessels, on coinage in Lycia, and on staters of Pamphylia at Aspendos, — BC and Pisidia.
It appears as a heraldic emblem on warriors' shields depicted on Greek pottery. The triskelion is an ancient symbol of Sicily, with the head of the Gorgon, whose hair are snakes, from which radiate three legs bent at the knee. The symbol dates back to when Sicily was part of Magna Graecia, the colonial extension of Greece beyond the Aegean. The Celtic symbol of three conjoined spirals may have had triple significance similar to the imagery that lies behind the triskelion. The triple spiral motif is a Neolithic symbol in Western Europe.
Though popularly considered a "Celtic" symbol, it is an ancient Aryan symbol. It is carved into the rock of a stone lozenge near the main entrance of the prehistoric Newgrange monument in County Meath, Ireland. Newgrange, which was built around BC,predates the Celtic arrival in Ireland, but has long since been incorporated into Celtic culture.
Theosophy, a Western esoteric school founded in the 19th century, regards Buddhism as containing esoteric teachings. In those supposed esoteric teachings of Buddhism, "exoteric Buddhism" believes that Nirmanakaya simple means the physical body of Buddha. Because the titles of the Tathagatha are: The dance of Manipura the solar plexus chakra begins with a flame, and as the music intensifies, the fire increases, I danced like wildfire. I became one with the fire, I was fire, flickering and wild. It felt incredibly liberating and powerful, and then all of a sudden my perception shifted dramatically. The experience transformed from being elemental fire, to being ON fire — being burned, encased in flames — and all the powerful emotions that came with it. During the dance I became angry, outraged, I found myself growling and shouting, I was defending myself against people who had abused me, punished me, shamed me, or taken my power away.
It was a stream of vitriol that started as a very young child and worked its way through to the more recent relationships in my life. Doctors, teachers, partners, family, friends, one after another I got very angry about all the times I had disempowered myself or been disempowered in these relationships. Even knowing it was just in the dance, the emotional reaction was profound. As I incanted this affirmation, there came a vision of a fiery cauldron burning away the hurts of the past, all those experiences where I was persecuted, shamed, or abused for expressing my power.
An image came to me of a golden cauldron on a large fire, and I poured all this emotion into the pot, to be transformed by the fire. That night I dreamt that a golden pot exploded — flipping its lid — with such a force it woke me up. Manipura had been activated! Meditate there on the region of Fire, triangular in form and shining like the rising sun. The image of the cauldron is meaningful. In both Taoist and Celtic traditions, the three cauldrons are the energy centres which are roughly equivalent to the seven chakras in the yoga tradition.

Where was this visitor? He is separate and distinct from the four living creatures, or occupants of the Saucers. Possibly he was as far away as the planet Saturn as we shall see presently. The prophet says the throne appeared as "a sapphire stone". The ruby, or red corundum, is almost never called sapphire, but all other gem varieties are, as white, green, purple, and yellow sapphire. Therefore, a "sapphire stone" can be green! Besides, the color sapphire blue is greenish-blue in hue. Again this sounds very similar to Orfeo Angelucci's experience. Again the green color!
