I'm in Love with Me. Something Very Strange About a Cowboy. Or at least not terribly in tune with gay culture.
High camp and drag of this era often veers into minstrelsy. But I see exaggerated flamboyance as a protest, a fuck-you to social norms, a good form of gay expression. Adrian Street: Sadist in Sequins | MetaFilter
Most wrestling books just skim over events. Adrian does a fabulous job at storytelling, and he is quite funny to boot. This was such a brutaly honest and compelling acvount of life in such a secretive business. Street when i was a boy and his character portrayal of the exotic one both shocked and mesmirized. Please keep them comming.
