The last sofa has moved to the apartment in order to replace the old blue one. In October the inner courtyard of the Language Guesthouse was once again a riot of colour: Here are a few pictures of them:. The crimson flowers of Mandevilla. The datura was cut back to 20 cm ouch, that hurt me too! Until the end of October, the Language Guesthouse continued to welcome numerous guests from home and abroad, even though the weather was not well-disposed to everyone.
A Swiss family came first and took advantage of the local car-sharing scheme for a whole day. A couple from Italy surprised me with a delicious gift from their home: I welcomed a number of returning guests: Also in October I had my first language student to work as a senior manager in an international company, He had been made responsible just a few weeks earlier for worldwide sales in the German headquarters.
It is particularly hard for the executive in an international company because its employees do not want to put him in the position of having laboriously to search for words and correct his grammar. We worked so intensively together for a week that I totally forgot that I can also speak English. A traditional front door in La Orotava, made from the wood of the Canarian Pine tree. In early November the moment had at last arrived: I really needed the break, as the previous few months, although enjoyable, had taken it out of me and I started thinking, next year for the same period I might look for someone to whom I could delegate the housework.
November is perhaps not the best time to take a holiday, and I wanted to see something other than dismal weather. It has been spared almost all of the hotel-building craze of the tourist centres, and from there I could make day tours by bus, go for walks and spend lazy days by the sea. The temperature was a pleasant 23 degrees, the hibiscus hedges were still in bloom, the bird-of-paradise plants and the poinsettias just starting to flower.
Here are some impressions from my first holiday since the founding of the Language Guesthouse:. Of course as a diehard plantswoman I could not resist bringing home a small bird-of-paradise plant and a yellow hibiscus in a pot as souvenirs. Both are re-potted and are now in the kitchen on the window-sill and soon In November I was also able to welcome my first Hungarian language course guest. He had then lived and worked in Germany for just a few weeks and the aim was that, as quickly as possible, he should not only be confident in his new field of work but also in the new language.
Of course, we did everything we could to make the best possible use of the short time available. Even so, there was still room for creativity, as evidenced by the following photos:. Language student Istvan from Hungary working at the scroll saw and ermerying his work piece. I tried to make some nice, atmospheric photos there, but most were unfortunately suitable only for the bin.
The atmosphere of Christmas markets is simply too difficult to capture properly with a small camera: I celebrated the New Year with international guests again. Larissa from St Petersburg was there for a language course and Deborah and David from England were guests from last summer, who liked Kaiserstuhl so much, that they decided to buy an apartment in Oberrotweil. Still busy with their property hunting, they spent the Christmas and New Year in Kaiserstuhl and we had a perfect New Year's Eve for four with meat fondue, a long game of "The Settlers of Catan" and the double opportunity to toast the New Year, because in Russia it starts 3 hours earlier than here and Larissa had the Russian television countdown to the New Year on her laptop.
The old adage says: Larissa, while learning German irregular verbs. The sky was always grey and cold rain alternated with wet snow. It was still February when Jisook, a Korean-American woman, who now lives and works in Hamburg for a German company, came. The last time I was there it was at January-time and I still remember the cold, windy days.
I wonder whether I should regularly offer 3 day mini-courses? Apparently there is a demand. Is this a current trends? A trend towards short breaks?

A trend towards short language courses? I was there - not with a language course guest but as a member of the Tourism Association to lay the table and help with the serving, but I had my little camera with me and tried to capture the mood in my pictures. Welcome with a glass of champagne, offered by these two well dressed gentlemen. Easter fell at the end of March this year and still spring kept us waiting. Not surprisingly, so then did the tourists. Last year over Easter weekend people were still ringing the doorbell after nine at night looking for accommodation at the door - and this year I had empty rooms and an unoccupied apartment.
Only a family from France with two boys aged 10 and 11 came to stay. The older son had learned German in school for a year. This reminded the parents of their school knowledge of German and prompted them to book a family Easter weekend in the Language Guesthouse to test their knowledge of German over dinner and breakfast and to set the youngsters a good example. We all had a lot of fun and I hope to see all four again next year. Now it's mid-April and finally spring is here with sunshine and temperatures of up to 25 degrees. I used the first warm Sunday for a hike along the cherry tree path, but the cherry trees were a disappointment: If I want to take pictures, I'll just have to go again.

A long queue of tractors with barrels full of grapes on their trailers is waiting to deliver their sweet load at the winegrowers' cooperative. I too have already harvested the grapes in the patio of the Language Guesthouse and converted them into grape juice and jelly. Those who decide to become my guests, get a taste of it - as a sweet temptation on the breakfast table. Summer brought again many international guests.
The Dutch and Danish on their way heading south were - like in the last years - the most numerous. Many of them stayed only for one night and were surprised to see, what a beautiful region they had got into. This area is called the Tuscany of Germany", I tried to advertise the Kaiserstuhl region. Surkamp, Stuttgart um Ajaib Singh died in and in Sirio felt a strong inclination and inner guidance to have three months in complete, continuous meditation. Obeying to this inner urge, he meditated at least fourteen-fifteen hours a day. Thus from the July of until September he didn't do anything else, just meditated through these hours every day.

He went through an incredible upliftment of consciousness and had many inner experiences, which showed much, much stronger than ever before, that this is what he has to do. So, according to his Master's will he does this spiritual work since then. There were many external signs as well from Ajaib during their intense spiritual relationship of twenty years, that his will was the Sirio carries on the spiritual work of his gurus. One of the strongest external signs from Ajaib to express his wish that Sirio takes up the role of the Master later on was that in during the retreat in Sant Bani Ashram Ribolla, Ajaib wanted that Sirio gives the initiation despite the fact he was also present.
This act is usually one of the ways of the Masters to show a succession. Sant Ajaib gave this instruction only to Sirio and not to any other disciple who were living in the Ashram at that time. Still nowadays this little house is used only by Sirio and he gives initiations and private interviews there. It is called the Master's house.
Consequently, some of the initiates [ 22 ] accepted this successorship after having inner experiences in meditation with Master Sirio. By now there is big number of followers, disciples of Master Sirio, mainly from different countries of Europe his biggest spiritual group is Hungarian [ 23 ] with whom nowadays there are a number of retreats every year, mainly in Italy in the Sant Bani Ashram and other cities as well , in Hungary, in Romania Transylvania and in Germany.
Master Sirio is giving a number of public lectures on Surat Shabd Yoga every year, fulfilling the invitation of his disciples. It seems that nowadays there is a growing number of people who recognized in Master Sirio the Living Satguru and are his disciples and devotees. Master Sirio does not accept or asks for any money for his spiritual activity. He takes it as a service for humanity, since in his understanding "spirituality is a free gift of nature, such as the life, the air or water".
He earns his living from his profession, since he is a well known and appreciated Ayurvedic therapist in the area of Toscany where he lives. He is not only therapist, but he is teaching the practice of Ayurveda as well. He first studied Ayurveda in from dr.
