Orkrider2 , Aug 19, Weird how the BBC can be so progressive [maybe too progressive] in some areas and yet seems conservative on this Ah well not like I watch it. I don't watch it but the dance purist in me says that a classic pas de deux is between a man and a woman and that other dance forms have their own conventions I really want the world to be an equal place for everyone and in this case there's nothing stopping men and women from dancing if they want to, regardless of sexuality.

I have known, in my dance education and dancing with professional companies, that there is a real mix of homosexual and heterosexual dancers, but yes, they typically take on the role according to their gender.
