Great team who know their products. The place is very nice. Some concerts on thursday and rock djs on saturday. We dropped in after dinner for a beer but got distracted by the scotch selection. The dark basement of the historic building makes for a great location. Friendly people running the bar made the stay very enjoyable.
The beer was great. The cellar where the bar is was not only neat to look at but also refreshingly cool.

La Porte Noire has a justifiably famous reputation as being one of the best beer bars in Brussels and one of the most popular hang out late night drinks bars to be found in this vibrant city. I found this bar many years ago and The first, and best, bar we visited in Brussels.
Recommended by friends, this isn't much to look at from the outside but you will be made very welcome as soon as you go down the stairs. Great atmosphere, friendly staff who are happy for you Gets much busier at weekend nights but saner early evening. Helpful bar staff though the guy who served us was french and his english wasn't the best. This bar is down several flights of stairs in an old cellar.
It's a cool spot, but there is mold growing on the walls and it smells musty.

We had a quick beer here and then left, but there were people who had obviously been Excellent underground venue, in a medieval basement that actually smells like a basement and old beer.
