Most of it is through poems he wrote to his wife and her short interludes of memories. It was so heartwarming and lovely I got teared up at points.

What an amazing man and an amazing life. Apr 08, Mrs. Oct 07, Mona Abbas rated it really liked it. Read the book with my morning coffee, when i did not have to rush. I enjoyed Elaine's commentary SO much more than the poems themselves. I think more of her viewpoint and less of the poems would have made this book SO much more enjoyable.

I'll admit the poems became tedious enough about half way through the book that I simply stopped reading them. I read what Elaine had written and the stories and anecdotes she shared all the way through the end of the book. Then, I went back and read a few of the poems that I'd skipped over. I honestly enjoyed the book so much more this way. Oct 26, Julia rated it really liked it. Never would I expect myself to pick up a book such as this.

Not the kind of thing I go in for. It is a slender book, complied by his wife, of poems that he wrote for her, photographs and narrative to hold it all together. So, if you are a theater buff, NYC buff, or simply just miss Jerry terribly, read this. You'll be happy you did! Really sad, as well, when she writes just how empty her life became after he had passed, even though she could almost hear him saying she should go on living, that he was gone but that he'd always be with her.
