It's the type of story that you read that gives you the tingles, shivers and a growing excitement with each page. I had a few buts when I reached the end but my likes supersedes my dislikes.
The moment the story starts, it dives right into the plot line, so no unnecessary words to fill in the story. It starts like any typical contra 4. It starts like any typical contract concept, as Blake is trying to convince Pippa, why she should take his proposal of marriage. Once she agrees, O. Blake's personality went from average to mega attractive. It was also the way he was doing it and saying certain things that were such a damn turn on.
Hell, he made me think I was a size 0. Blake would say other things like "When, in the future, I say you look stunning, you smile at me and melt like I mean it. I could go on and on about Blake, because he was the show stopper for me. He makes me feel like a teenager just thinking about him. Pippa's character was just as nice. With the things Blake was saying to her, made it even harder for her to concentrate.
What left me a little disappointed, was that I wanted more erotica scenes; I felt they were not enough.

Also, Blake's explanation on his reasoning for doing what he did, didn't leave me satisfied, however, the end was so sweet. And other than this issue for me, I love love love this story. The hero, Blake, was a billionaire, hot, and head-over-heals in love with Pippa. The actions he took to prove his love were a bit over the top and extreme, but he felt it was the only way to get through to Pippa. Talk about a grand gesture!
There was great chemistry between the two characters. There were some great steamy scenes, but there was romance as well. Sure, there were some parts that were unrealistic and predictable, but sometimes that is what is great about reading fiction. Overall, it was an enjoyable read. Jun 21, Melanie rated it really liked it Shelves: This novella read like a Harlequin romance from days of yore ie the one's my Mom used to read - except it was way more erotically charged! It's fomulaic, but it works! Feb 02, Genney Blass rated it really liked it. I have to admit even though it was a short story, it was very very good.
Love the way, How the leading male character wanted more of her, and her not knowing how his feelings were.
It was very sweet, how he wanted her. Truly impress with this book. Aug 19, Brandy rated it liked it Shelves: This was a good short story with a plus-sized heroine. I would have loved reading this as a full-length novel with more details.

Apr 18, Linda Sims rated it really liked it. I really liked this romance, it's a quick read but a rewarding one. Pippa Jones is in deep trouble her accountant has run off with her money, now her livelihood is threatened. Then one her clients Blake Cross a millionaire steps in to help, he has a proposition. He needs a wife temporarily, but he refuses to tell Pippa why till after they're married. If she agrees he will help her financially. This is a good read, it's obvious to the reader what's going on, only the heroine Pippa doesn't get it.
Being a fuller figured girl all her life she's never had anyone treat her right. Blake is always photographed by the press and Pippa fears if she agrees to the deal he's offering she'll be lambasted in the papers. But Blake is determined to get his way. Great chemistry and sensuous sex scenes, as well as likeable characters I will definitely be reading more from this author.
Nov 12, Jessi Bond rated it it was amazing. This story totally sucked me in! I loved how it started right in the middle of the plot unfolding rather than giving a whole lot of backstory and slow buildup, but I still felt like I knew exactly what was going on. Pippa manages to be sympathetic and identifiable even after we've figured things out LONG ago that she still can't bring herself to see It doesn't get any better than that!
Oct 18, Jamie Lynn rated it liked it Shelves: Yay for chubby insecure heroines!! I loved how she was oblivious. This was a fun quick read. It's contrived and implausible, but the perfect quick escape for chubby spinsters like me!

This was one of those unexpected but unbelievably outstanding gems you find when you least expect it. I loved the characters and the angle Wick took with the story. Puppy was a bit obtuse in "getting it" but it was totally sweet once she did. Blake is totally my new book boyfriend! Aug 09, Kimberlee rated it really liked it. This was a lovely little short story. But either way it was fun and sexy to read. Jan 13, Annette rated it really liked it Shelves: I really liked this short but sweet erotic romance. May 05, Giovanni rated it really liked it Shelves: A novella about curvy woman and a hot guy.
Enjoyed it a lot. Simple, hot, yet entertaining. Feb 04, StellaR rated it really liked it Shelves: A quick, sweet read: I always try to look for books more with BBW. I am so glad I found this one. Pippa has horrible parents. Man, what her mother says to her. No child or even adult woman deserves that. And then being used in the past, UGH! But with now her company in a spiral she didn't see a silver lining.

Thank goodness for Blake. For one Blake is a billionaire that she has been his PR person for a year. But she also doesn't know that Blake is in love with her. Pippa secretly loves him too. What they I love it. What they go through is crazy but I am glad for the HEA. Nov 16, M rated it liked it. Loved it but found it too short.

Didn't like the end. Too quick and easy like she was looking to finishing it and getting it over with. Fun short read I liked that this was a story about a plus sized woman being sought after by the hot, wealthy billionaire. I wanted to give her a hug when I read about her mom. Pippa is a BBW who owns her own PR business, which is in trouble since her accountant absconded with funds. Blake is a wealthy client of Pippa's who makes her an offer she can't refuse -- he'll help find the guy and pay for lawyers to help fight the IRS, but she needs to marry him.
He can't exactly tell her why, but it involves a lawsuit of sorts.

There are some pretty steamy scenes in this which is why it's at 3 stars instead of two. I couldn't give this more stars because th Standalone novella. I couldn't give this more stars because there are so many unresolved stories that are introduced because they're supposed to help move the plot along, but failed. And, I hated that this was simply convoluted so that he'd end up with Pippa despite the fact she marries him under essentially false pretenses. Pippa's got major body issues, which stems from years of psychological abuse by her mother, which makes her unbelieving of any complements regarding her beauty.
The author tries to resolve this issue with her mother, but it wasn't very convincing. It is drawn in the Edgeworth box diagram shown here, in which each person's allocation is measured vertically for one good and horizontally for the other good from that person's origin point of zero allocation of both goods ; one person's origin is the lower left corner of the Edgeworth box, and the other person's origin is the upper right corner of the box. The people's initial endowments starting allocations of the two goods are represented by a point in the diagram; the two people will trade goods with each other until no further mutually beneficial trades are possible.
Contrary to this claim neither the point of initial endowments, nor the contract curve is displayed in the actual diagram shown here. The set of points that it is conceptually possible for them to stop at are the points on the contract curve. Any Walrasian equilibrium lies on the contract curve. As with all points that are Pareto efficient , each point on the contract curve is a point of tangency between an indifference curve of one person and an indifference curve of the other person. Thus, on the contract curve the marginal rate of substitution is the same for both people.
Assume the existence of an economy with two agents, Octavio and Abby, who consume two goods X and Y of which there are fixed supplies, as illustrated in the above Edgeworth box diagram. Further, assume an initial distribution endowment of the goods between Octavio and Abby and let each have normally structured convex preferences represented by indifference curves that are convex toward the people's respective origins.
If the initial allocation is not at a point of tangency between an indifference curve of Octavio and one of Abby, then that initial allocation must be at a point where an indifference curve of Octavio crosses one of Abby. These two indifference curves form a lens shape, with the initial allocation at one of the two corners of the lens. Octavio and Abby will choose to make mutually beneficial trades — that is, they will trade to a point that is on a better farther from the origin indifference curve for both. Such a point will be in the interior of the lens, and the rate at which one good will be traded for the other will be between the marginal rate of substitution of Octavio and that of Abby.
Since the trades will always provide each person with more of one good and less of the other, trading results in movement upward and to the left, or downward and to the right, in the diagram. This point is called a Pareto efficient equilibrium. Thus the contract curve, the set of points Octavio and Abby could end up at, is the section of the Pareto efficient locus that is in the interior of the lens formed by the initial allocations. The analysis cannot say which particular point along the contract curve they will end up at — this depends on the two people's bargaining skills.
In the case of two goods and two individuals, the contract curve can be found as follows.
