An abusive ex-boyfriend, drug and alcohol abuse, and other mistakes in her past continue to haunt her. When police officer David Matthews meets her in the hospital after having been beat up by her ex-boyfriend, Michele figures he just wants to rub her past in her face. What he offers her is what she never expected: Some of the low-level romance in the book was expected and some was unexpected. At times I felt I was being drawn into the character's lives and at other times I felt like a was just an observer from the outside.

Several glaring errors in grammar and complete omission of words in sentences would hopefully have been caught by more careful editing of this edition. Oct 19, Hope rated it really liked it. Finding God is the last thing on Michele's troubled mind, but God has a way of finding the lost I read this fairly quickly, and it is by no means a difficult read. What made this book most enjoyable was Klinesmith's ability to create characters you want to care about.

The dialogue, emotion, and action are spot-on - I wanted to know how Michele was doing throughout the day. It is amazing how God can help you overcome insurmountable odds to find a bright future. I enjoyed the bits of scripture exchanged in truly difficult moments. I can't wait to read book 2!

Sep 27, Englishrose rated it liked it. Though this story had a lot of potential and play with the plot, I felt like it got a bit bogged down with a couple of sermons stuck in the middle on religion, forgiveness and a how-to guide on becoming born-again. The characters were good and had some fun interplay. David didn't have a lot of spunk, but he was solid and stable. Michele, I kept imagining as younger than she was, had a good development as she matured and changed through the book. A bit of missed potential, the plot was still fun Though this story had a lot of potential and play with the plot, I felt like it got a bit bogged down with a couple of sermons stuck in the middle on religion, forgiveness and a how-to guide on becoming born-again.

A bit of missed potential, the plot was still fun and had some good excitement, even if the chemistry was on low-heat. All in all, a strongly focused Christian book with some action and romance thrown in. Apr 02, Alicia Rae rated it it was amazing. Journey to Almighty is a touching story. From the first few pages, I was immediately pulled into Michelle's character. Her story shows us God has a plan for each one of us, and no matter how rough it seems at certain times in our life, we need to keep our Faith. Tina Klinesmith has a remarkable ability to create characters you can't help but fall in love with.

This story had my emotions rolling, and kept me flipping the pages through the very end. Dec 13, Tanx rated it liked it. A simple story of a young girl's journey to grace. Journey to Almighty is a heartwarming and exciting story with a romantic ending. One person found this helpful. Tina Klinesmith's Journey to Almighty was a wonderful story. Enough so that I was willing to forfeit comfort and sit in front of a computer screen while reading it straight through. While it suffered some of the same proofreading oversights that many ebooks unfortunately share the story and characters were well written and very engaging. The main character's journey to acceptance, faith, and love make this a great discussion book.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and will be looking forward to reading some of the author's other books. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. This book held my interest from start to finish.

Editorial Reviews

Michelle, the protagonist, was likable even before her transformation. I just had the feeling that there was goodness hiding behind that wall she built around herself for protection. There were a couple scenarios that were unlikely to occur in real life but much of her suffering is real life for some.

She develops a beautiful relationship with God and I appreciated the non-preachy quality of the writing. I loved that this story, although one of faith, is grounded in the real world where terrible things happen and people make choices that sometimes have horrific consequences. I loved Michele, the main character and it was wonderful to see her transformation throughout the story. The story is filled with tragedy.

But more than that, it's filled with faith, hope, and the desire to uplift oneself in times of great trouble. Firoz Khan's wisdom keeps flowing through the pages, backed by wonderful storytelling. I feel the magical story-telling vibe of Khaled Hosseini and Paulo Coelho flowing through the pages. I've been reading the author's book for some time, and was always amazed to see how a beat down character, can end up changing the entire setting he's in, with a heart full of persistence and strength. Despite the fact that Raja was a beggar, his great spirit led him to the beautiful redemption he'd always been seeking.

It mentions in the book that if you seek something earnestly enough, then the atoms and all energies in the universe will revolve around you, and work for you, in helping you attain what you were looking for. The characters in the book are magical, lit, and I can feel their presence igniting as I read through the book.

But more than that, they can inspire you to take on life in ways you never thought of before, and deal with the uncertainties of life, knowing that if Raja achieved redemption, then we can as well. But above all, the story-telling abilities of the author are just magical. And Author Almighty proves it. I look forward to more of his work. This an amazing story of never ending hope, providing readers with an inspirational message that will leave you gripped to the pages from beginning to end.

This wonderful story begins with the tragic tale of Raja, who was taken from his parents as a small child, to live a life as a beggar and being raised to become one himself one day. He never stops believing he does not belong to this tragic world and continues to hope to be reunited with his family again. He writes a note, hoping for it to be found by someone who can deliver the message.

It is a story of faith, never giving up, and the concept that the Universe works to gives us what we ask for. I recommend this book for anyone that like cerebral stories of hope and courage.

Great read by a great author! This book also raises awareness to something that occurs everyday in India, the kidnapping of children for profit. Extremelty touching, a reality we must not ignore.
