Tristan & Isolde: The Warrior and the - Lerner Publishing Group

Elvin Ortiz Top Contributor: Compared to Demeter and Persephone and Psyche and Eros both titles from the same collection I did not find this title enthralling. It may have all the events from the original sources, but it tries to cover too much material in its 48 pages. When you try to condense a work of this magnitude in so little space, there is very little room for a worthwhile adaptation. In the case of King Arthur, there are two titles covering that interesting legend. When it comes down to the story, most of its pages cover the persecution of one of the King's knights, Sir Meriadoc against Tristan and Isolde.

There may be some parallel with King Arthur in this respect, but the parallel stops there. Other than that, the drawings are colorful and well done. Its just the plot, as presented, or the emphasis given on that Meriodac-Tristan conflict that didn't convince me. If you are teaching the legend in class, it might be a good course. Was very well designed and presented. Definitely glad I purchased.

Very beautiful story with beautiful comic book style art work. I have read quite a few versions of the Tristan and Isolde story, and enjoyed this one. The artwork is nice, and more retro compared to modern comics and graphic novels, which is just fine seeing that it's a classic tale and part of a series of classic tales.
