This was good, but might have been better with a bit more development. Sure, Sage has good reasons for taking off, but she's pretty shitty to Trent while he's simply looking for an explanation for why she took off that night. Trent on the other hand is a bit over-whelming with his take charge attitude I mean, he crosses boundaries and assumes control. And it seemed strange since they'd only known each other a week. His attitude might have made more sense if they'd known each other longer or the insta-love connection had been made clearer in the prologue.
It was good, quick and delightfully smutty! An enjoyable quick read. Sage was a bit wacky - I understand what she was doing, but don't necessarily agree with it. She wasn't just stubborn, but sometimes stupidly so. Trent was was solid, forgiving and trustworthy. Jan 07, Linda rated it really liked it Shelves: A Racy Romantic Thriller!!!!!

The main protagonists were likable compelling characters with deep emotions. Trent is a dominant caring protective alpha, Sage is a woman with much internal strength, a survivor. We are given multiple points of view including that of the psychotic villain whose been waiting a long time to capture his prey.
The amusing epilogue wrapped things up nicely leaving you pondering the workings of fate. There was some anal play that this reader did not enjoy coming across, the activity detracted from the sexiness of the scenes. ARC of the revised edition provided by the publisher via NetGalley. First let me preface this review by saying, this book is a short so I get that some details aren't fully developed and the reader is left to fill in the blanks. In my humble opinion, the author was just being lazy! I wasn't sure if the characters were stupid or deaf.

The premise of the story is that Sage was stalked which resulted in her sister's death, but Trent her love interest in the story seems to be sort of stalker-ish as well which sort of turned me off.
He was also extremely pushy. He may have been sexy as hell with a body of a god, but that didn't give him the right to order Sage around like a puppy. However, when she pushed back, she seemed bitchy. It was a very odd combination of push pull that, as a reader, left me very confused.

- Empires End (Sten #8).
I have read similar dynamics in other romance novels that didn't leave me so confused which leads me to believe that the distasteful dynamic was the authors fault, and would not have existed in at the hands of a more skillful writer. My final complaint came at the end of the book. The author wrote "A few bright flashes surrounded them and she was vaguely aware when something ripped through her shoulder. To use the authors favorite word "What?
However, if you don't mind inconsistencies, poor dialogue, and lots of confusion, the sex scenes were good, not great, but good. Apr 17, Book Reading Gals rated it really liked it. It was a quick read for me, and I felt like I just really wanted to get to know these characters more. I wanted to feel more emotions from our characters — which the emotions were there, it just felt like we were only scratching the surface of what was really there.

Intense, smoldering romance with an edge.. Sage Miller has spent the last eighteen months trying to bury memories of the man she shared one of the steamiest weeks of her life with, but no matter how hard she tries the memories refuse to let go. H Sage Miller has spent the last eighteen months trying to bury memories of the man she shared one of the steamiest weeks of her life with, but no matter how hard she tries the memories refuse to let go. He'd give everything to see her again, and have the opportunity to prove to her that they have something real, something that could stand the test of time. It was packed with edge or your seat intensity, passion, steamy romance, thrilling mystery, and took me on one spectacular literary ride!! Definitely one of the best NetGalley finds that I have stumbled onto in quite a while, and also the introduction to a truly gifted storyteller!
Highly recommend you one click this one, it's sure to satisfy all your reading needs and then some!! Katie Reus writing as Savannah Stuart definitely has a much sexier more erotic edge. Their connection picks up right where it left off, and they are hot and heavy pretty quick. Unfortunately, Sage's stalker only picks up the harassment once their relationship becomes known. Both Sage and Trent are determined to protect the other, and neither of them are backing down until it's all over. I enjoyed the characters and the suspense.
It was a great little afternoon escape. Even though this was a re-release it was new to me. This book was super flammable. The story line between Trent and Sage was very compelling. Two years ago Sage world was turned upside down by tragedy. Several years later when she thought she finally got her life back on track. Ominous things started to occur, who can Sage trust when all the people she knew were dead. Then one day when she needed help the most Trent reappeared. With the help of a former Navy Seal can they track down the vicious stalker or will the stalker claim Sage as his price?
What I really enjoyed about Dangerous Deception was how easily the story flowed. I am not a big mystery book reader. However, with Dangerous Deception I got into the romance and mystery of the story. The only downside to this book was that it was to short which could have been longer. But other than that Dangerous Deception was a pretty good read. This book contains highly erotic sexual situations that will have you blushing and using any inanimate object to fan yourself with! Reader discretion is strongly advised: The heat level is scorching! I also enjoyed the suspense hook to the story but it ended way too soon for me.
One that is worth the read! Savannah Stuart is one of the best writers of short novellas. She keeps the screenplay tight, the suspense close, danger on the edge and passion scorching as the fire. No matter how short her stories are she leaves not much room for missing key elements. Dangerous Deception is just that. A fight to save herself from death and a mad killer, Sage Miller leaves a traumatic past and a one night of pure love and passion to make a new beginning. But then the past rears its ugly head along with her one nightstand, Trent Takoda. Trent had been searching for Sage since the night they heated the sheets and the flames refuse to be doused even a bit.
Finding Sage so close to home only increase his love for her and this ex-Navy SEAL is not letting a mad stalker take her away. And as always her characters make an impact with their courage, integrity and chemistry that just makes us want more of them. Another scorching, adrenaline pumping narration from Savannah Stuart, that is worth every penny!

The story revolves around two main characters: Amy, a helicopter med-evac nurse, and Lynch, a brilliant police detective. Alternately, we get to know Amy and her values and personal life, including her relationship with her father and with Lynch.
The idea of a villain who deliberately puts young I enjoyed this combination police procedural and medical thriller. The idea of a villain who deliberately puts young women into a persistent vegetative state rather than just killing them is creepy. Then there is the whole spyware, email intercepts, and cell phone hijacking issues added to the mix. How do you protect yourself from an enemy you can't see who knows all about you? Big Brother becomes Puppet Master. The book was well-written and full of red herrings. As another cop said of Lynch and his boss: The adrenaline-pumping action leads to an almost-resolved ending.
Although the mystery is solved, Amy and Lynch's situation are left in a cliff-hanger. Feb 04, Marilyn Johnson rated it really liked it. This is book one from the Mid Air Series, what a great place to start. Amy Gibbs is ready to start a new job in combining two things she loves, nursing and flying.
She is also trying to get over a broken heart. When Amy enters his life again will he be able to face the fears that broke her heart the first time? This book is full of suspense, mystery, and a dash of romance. I enjoyed learning about many of the characters throughout this novel and look forward to learning more about them in the next book s. Once you read this book you will want to read the next one. It does have a few curse word in it and some material you may not feel appropriate for young readers. It is full of current prejudices, crimes and is very descriptive.

They meet up in the emergency department and Lynch decides he wants to be back in Amy's life. As they try to work things out, their lives are complicated by a psychotic criminal called the LA Rapist.
Despite the name given by the press, the psychopath does not rape his victims, he leaves them in a mindless, vegetative state. Due to references to rape, sex, and other behaviors, I would class this book as adult in nature and secular in genre. I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest opinion. I am looking forward to the next book in the series as, Looks That Deceive ended with a real cliff-hanger.
