The book stays true to the character of Chase- I never felt like it was anyone else telling the story, and the voice just rings so true. I forgot that it was a fictional tale as I got more engrossed in the relationship between Chase and Danny, and between Danny and the exotic neighbor Olga whose father gives Chase a job tending the family horses.

Ultimately Chase learns that whatever he does with his life he needs to do it for himself and for the right reasons, and no just because someone told him he should. I really enjoyed this book, it was an easy, yet thoughtful read which focused on a family's struggle to come to terms with the return of Danny, a Marine returning from a tour of Afghanistan.
The story is told from the point of view of Chase, Danny's 17 year old brother who is also determined to follow in his brother's footsteps and sign-up for the Marines much against his parents wishes. It was an interesting perspective, looking at someone who was suffering from PTSD, from the viewpoint of Chas I really enjoyed this book, it was an easy, yet thoughtful read which focused on a family's struggle to come to terms with the return of Danny, a Marine returning from a tour of Afghanistan. My only criticism was that I wanted more character development to have more insight to the relationship between Chase and Olga which I felt was a little rushed.
