This work was composed to mark the Bicentennial of the settlement at Risdon Cove and Hobart Town in and seeks to represent two contrasting Tasmanian locations, both of which hold significance to the composer and Tasmanians in general. The Truganni Memorial on Bruny Island to the south of Tasmania is situated on a small hill on the neck of the island — a place where shearwaters and penguins gather in great numbers each evening.
Peoples' Park in Strahan on the west coast of Tasmania is a simple park which hosted family picnics, brass band performances and happy relaxed weekend at the turn of the 20th century. In this song, the arrows were charmed by means of singing and dancing so that they would go faster — as fast as lightning.

Gilmour used the guitar in the Strat Pack show that commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster at Wembley Arena along with one of his Candy Apple Red Stratocasters famous for their appearances with Gilmour from to It is not the first Fender Stratocaster ever made as prototypes had already been constructed before this one. The origin of the guitar is unknown, and it isn't clear whether it is the real Strat because the neck which has the serial number on it could have been taken off the original. Gilmour has used many acoustic guitars, including a Gibson Chet Atkins classical model, and a Gibson J Celebrity acoustic guitar.
