This book was fast paced and full of action. I really Stephanie and her two children are at the wrong place and time and witness something that they shouldn't. I really enjoyed the slow process of John and Stephanie falling in love. John's past was so very sad. But with Stephanie and her children he seemed to slowly heal.

I loved that John was willing to let go of the pain and move on and that made it all the more sweet. Ok my one complaint was that the ending needed a little something more. I hope that there will more books and maybe turn into a series. But I usually don't like them together. But I did like this one, mainly because it was paced very well.
Editorial Reviews
The writing is tight and the dialogue realistic. I think all the reactions by the heroine to be very much how I would feel- a whole range of emotions, but mostly the need to keep her kids safe. The romance may seem to blossom quickly but I think under the circumstances, it is believable. I also enjoyed the interactions with the children. Obvious I'll be honest. Jordan is well acquainted with children and their "needs.
The love story was a beautiful part of the book. I think even my dad would enjoy this one: Jul 27, Jenn Green rated it it was amazing. I loved this book!! Action-packed right from the beginning. Read this on my Kindle and couldn't 'turn' the pages fast enough. Jordon out did herself on this one!

I did figure out who the mole was pretty quick but that didn't make the story any less enjoyable! In the book, Stephanie is camping with her children and they stumble upon quite the crime scene. In an effort to keep her safe while also using her to get information, John must whisk her away to a safe house. Here the thriller part of the book begins to take a back seat to romance and I did begin to lose interest but the author made sure to keep bringing the bad guys into the story and that kept me from putting the book down.
If you like romance novels- the romance in this probably didn't start soon enough to keep you reading. If you like a mix of romance and suspense, this just might be the perfect book for you. Well, my first impression is Thank the Heavens I've never needed the FBI for anything because if this book is a representation of their efficiency, I'd be dead by now.
I don't even have a problem with John because even though he wasn't perfect, he really did try to do everything he could to protect them all. What I did have a problem with was how easy it was to find info by the bad guys. I mean, Ben asked a rookie cop to find him an important phone number. The mole later used that c Well, my first impression is The mole later used that cop to find the location of the cabin.
His Witness to Evil
How careless was that? They knew there was a mole inside. Ben should've never have given that task to that cop. No wonder they always knew where the family was Anyway I did like the romance. It wasn't overwhelming and complemented everything well without overshadowing the main story. Jul 26, Ronna rated it liked it Shelves: This was a enjoyable romantic suspense book, however, it offered nothing original in the way of storyline and was completely predictable.

For the most part, I found it to be very enjoyable. I would probably recommend this to someone who likes reading a suspense-filled romance. Jun 02, Whispers From rated it really liked it. John is the FBI agent who's been after the thieves since they killed his partner. Now he must protect Stephanie and her kids while she tries to identify the traitors in the treasury department.
Jul 28, Diane rated it liked it Shelves: This gets her involved with the FBI and the Treasury department, and someone is a mole feeding information that is going to get her killed! Jun 01, Ann rated it liked it Shelves: More suspense than romance with the romance leaning towards less than believable, even for fiction. MAJOR flaw - did someone not proof read this one? The theme font changes several times during the bk. The info on the book said this was based on a true story. Wow is all I can say.
I give it 4 stars Feb 07, Season rated it did not like it. I am assuming the author changed publishers?
Either way, great plot, good characters, good ending. Jul 25, Nicole rated it liked it. Lot's of typo's and grammatical errors. Feb 09, Jo Notary marked it as to-read. Jul 25, Michelle [Helen Geek] marked it as to-read Shelves: I always know I better settle in when I start one of this author's books because I can't put her stories down until they're finished.
Apr 30, Janet Watters rated it it was amazing. That which was meant for evil worked out for your good. A little bit of evil then a lot of good. I was glad it worked out that they married. Apr 24, Deirdre rated it it was ok. I figured out the guilty almost immediately.
Nov 10, J added it. Too confusing and just not interesting enough to try and wade through it. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. I was alone, save for the workers upstairs. Then a woman with straight shoulder-length brown hair came through the sliding glass door that led from the living room to the small rectangle of dirt that was the yard, fronting on the Shoreline Trail. She wore loose-fitting blue slacks with a matching jacket over an ivory blouse, and sandals with low heels. A slim leather shoulder bag completed this ensemble.
She had a cordless phone glued to her left ear. She was talking and gesturing with her right hand. You're three weeks behind anyway. A couple of runners jogged by on the trail, followed by a cyclist and an elderly woman walking a frisky golden retriever.
The woman with the phone listened impatiently to the other person's half of the conversation. She walked into the kitchen, poured some coffee into a mug, then swallowed a mouthful. Then she started talking again. Her abrupt tone made me guess she'd cut off the other voice. I didn't think she'd seen me. Certainly she hadn't acknowledged my presence. She was still talking when a man wearing a short-sleeved yellow knit shirt, faded jeans and a pair of loafers without socks came through the front door and looked at me.
He nodded distractedly as he shook my hand, his brown eyes on the woman I assumed was his wife Elaine. I'm five-eight, and he was perhaps an inch taller, with an incipient paunch rounding his stomach and a computer-nerd slouch. He was losing what used to be a head of curly black hair. When he'd called me earlier, Dan Stefano had told me he was in the computer game business. I'd checked him out. He was being modest. He'd started StefanoWorks two years ago and was considered a hot entrepreneur in a highly competitive business. He and his small staff of employees created innovative interactive CD-ROM games in a suite of offices located not far from here at the Harbor Bay business park.
His most recent release had won a prize and was selling like the proverbial hotcakes. StefanoWorks was worth serious big bucks. I'd checked out Elaine Stefano as well. She was a real estate agent at a big firm in Alameda. When she wasn't selling houses, I guessed she supervised construction of The House. Then she looked at me as though seeing me for the first time. She put on her company face. It smoothed the scowl that drew lines between her eyebrows and at the corners of her hazel eyes. Her full mouth segued from a frown to a polite and business-like smile.
She was taller than Dan, with sleek athletic curves that made me speculate she was into jogging or aerobics when she wasn't terrorizing decorators. Thank you so much for meeting us here. Would you like some coffee? Stefano has to get back to the office. Let's get right to it. You were very brief. Now I'd like a more detailed picture. When did you realize Darcy was missing?
