Ares, I totally understand, can be A bad guy, but his He has a lover: Aphrodite and is 'respected'! Why is this Ares the bad guy and why is there no me It was not a difficult read in itself, I mean this novel is clearly intended for a younger audience Why is this Ares the bad guy and why is there no mention if his relationship with Aphrodite in here?
Well, I'll be reading more to watch out for this. Hera is the wife of the God of Gods. She should have some kind of important role as well. And Demeter is the mere 'commander of all natural element'. Heck, if she hadn't been replaced by Dyonisus, Hestia would have been a perfect candidate also. Some authors can really pull it off, but It 'irks' me a little that we would break this, embellish her life and write her a lover with whom she has no direct encounter at all in the main legends. I'd like to point out that not all women need a love relationship in order to strive or to be happy in life.
I would have thought that Artemis and Athena's presence in this would have introduced the audience to such a dynamic. I would have forgiven it if, in their 'human forms', the girls had fallen in, love. I mean it's only human, and they do become the humans So, Human-Athena, if you do fall in love, I will accept it! I'll also concede that maybe it's the 'intellectual' kind of love between the two of them. Kind of like an introduction to it, if you wish. However, there are some points which could have been more BUT, because it was so much different than what I know of the myths, it kept me turning the pages for more.
I just kind of wish that the novel was better written or translated, rather. But, again, this was intended for a younger audience A compromise, Belgian style I didn't really like this book, but my year old daughter thinks the series is amazing read it when she was Maybe, in part, that's where it went wrong for me: I was somewhat annoyed by translation errors. Not that I could do much better, but then again: Furthermore, this book has clearly been written for teenagers obviously , but someti A compromise, Belgian style Furthermore, this book has clearly been written for teenagers obviously , but sometimes it seems it was also written BY a teenager.
So I looked up the author, but really couldn't find much at first sight Lastly, I really did not care for Luce. She is hateful, self-centered and superficial and annoyingly stupid. I try to avoid people like that in real life, so I really don't like them as protagonists in books.

I know people have different personalities, but this was really over-the-top, I think, for a main character. So, as I said wrote , a compromise: My daughter Elina wants 5 stars and I would give it 2. I've read this book when i was 12 years old. I loved it so much!
See a Problem?
It was the only book that i enjoyed reading at that age. These books are a perfect way for children to learn about the greek mythology. Despite the fact that it has quite a lot of pages for a 12year old, the way the sentences are formed and the usage of the vocabulary makes it easy to read! Too bad that only the first 2 books were in my language that year. I am considering reading the whole series.
I read this book when I was like, 10 I think? And it was my favourite book when I was younger, I didn't even know it was from a series, I would like to read the other books too, the only problem is that I won't find them anywhere and I probably won't like them anymore since I'm now 16, I wish I would've read them when I was at the age to read them.
