The math sections on the ACT are designed to test students' ability to solve mathematical problems, reason quantitatively, and interpret data that is presented in graphs and tables. The math section offers two types of questions: For the first section of the Math ACT no calculator is allowed. This section includes 15 multiple choice and 5 grid-ins.
