He left Lark confused and heartbroken the day after he proposed to her. Lark has picked up the pieces of her battered heart and moved on with her life.

Wild For You

But when Mason shows up unexpectedly, asking for 7 dates to prove he will do whatever it takes to show her he has never stopped loving her, Lark wants nothing to do with him. I liked how Lark did not give in easily and even wanted to plan a date of her own. Lark's sister's were also very protective of her and made it clear to Mason he was not welcome.

Always a Bridesmaid… Until You’re Fired

So set the stage for proving he was truly repentant. I liked Mason even if I didn't agree with his past decisions. He demonstrated he was humble and would take the chiding he deserved to prove he had grown and matured and would never hurt the one person who truly loved him, so horribly again. Lark challenged Mason and their chemistry was still as fiery as ever.

  3. Tribulation House (Kansas City Blues Book 3)!

This is a charming and heartwarming story that sets up the town and the characters for future story lines perfectly. The narrator, Piper Goodeve, did a fabulous job setting the scenes, drawing me in, and allowing me to enjoy it even more. She is one of my favorite narrators. I'm so excited about this -- I love not only a romantic series, but a well-written one, to boot. I have the weekend off, and I'm going to gobble up the rest of these as fast as my fingers can turn the pages of my Kindle. I lucked out finding Jessie Evans!

I have to say I did agree with the reviewer who thought forgiveness came too easy At times I just couldn't understand how she could just let it all go, which probably says more about me than it does about Lark. Of course she still has feelings for him because the relationship was unresolved and never "officially" ended.

I get forgiving him because it was more about her own peace of mind than his, but giving him her trust so quickly without him really earning it was bizarre. But as the story progressed I fell in love with Mason myself and I do think he a suffered appropriately and b learned his lesson about keeping secrets and telling half-truths. Now I want to see how that yummy Nash tames the overbearing Aria! I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either.

For me it was a bit too predictable. I thought Mason's Uncle Parker was a total jerk. Just because he didn't get to persue his own dreams, doesn't mean he should take his frustrations out on someone who had no choice in the matter. Lark's sister, Aria, is also another bitter pill to swallow.

Just because she had one bad experience with her marriage, doesn't mean she has the right to make everyone around her miserable, too. Or that all men are pigs like her ex was. Those two really needed to get over themselves, and find a way to finally move on! As far as Lark and Mason go I totally agree that what he did wasn't right, no. But give the guy a break already!

Let's face it he didn't have any good examples to learn from while he was growing up, either. So he made a mistake Heck, I would have been thrilled with knowing that I had made only one mistake at that age. Boy do I wish! Lark carrying on for over a year after he left, just proves that she was still to immature to handle a real relationship back then. She needed to focus on the postiveslike would she have went on to Culinary school if he'd stayed? Would she have started her own restaurant and catering business? Or would she have gotten lost in his world, and been tied down with a couple of kids by now?

I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. I also believe that if it were meant to happen, it will happen. Everyone deserves a second chance, and what a wonderful one they got, too. I really dislike a book where the heroine gives in too quickly to the hero.
