Brock, a lazy youth, and, doggone it I can't remember spelling of wizard name, set out on a quest to fix a magical amulet. This wizard has his own demons to fight, and this story is all about each of them growing up and becoming the person's they are.
Well written, fast paced, and very feel good story. A nice distraction from all the world saving fantasy books out there. A quaint tale of magic, learning, friendship, and love. This is a nice light-hearted story about a young boy coming of age. I continually wanted to check to see the recommended reader age for this book.

It just seems more suited for an elementary aged child. The story is interesting, but does not have real depth. Scenes move along abruptly with little transition. The characters could be developed to greater depth and the action described with much more detail. Some of the words are apparently more accustomed to British usage. I may purchase the follow-on book to see if the writing is a little more mature. Here is a classic tale of a young man growing up. The setting is well developed and fun to read.
The author builds a clean tale of good vs evil and a typical quest for the party. The novel is gentle rather than combative or full of death- yes fairy tale fits. I enjoyed the simple storyline and straight forward dialogue. This is the type of book I would want on the bookshelves of a library in the pre-teen section. Of course, adults that like light fantasy reading should enjoy it too.
The story is not bad, although not really innovative.
Learning Android, 2nd Edition by Masumi Nakamura, Marko Gargenta
But in general, everything in the book is a little too simplistic to my taste: I ended up thinking that maybe it is designed for a very young public and the mistake was mine that didn't understand it when I got it. For the youngsters, I think it can be more interesting and its simple and direct approach can actually be fit. It sure would benefit from a good editing since there are some incongruities in the narrator's tense, some typos and the punctuation could be improved in a lot of places.
An entertaining tale of an elf's journey from self-centered youth to budding wizard.

He falls under the tutelage of a driven but kindly wizard. Would have ranked it 5 stars with improved editing. One person found this helpful. I hold a special place in my heart for apprentice books, and this was just an awesome adventure! I don't want to give any spoilers, but I loved the style of writing, the characters were enchanting and the villains were totally villainous!
Who doesn't want the good guy and the underdog to win?
The Intern, Volume 1 (The Intern, #1) by Brooke Cumberland
Yes, I want to know what happens next! This is Good book. Engaging and different with its beginning. It kept me coming back to it and I look forward to the next book to see what happens with the new wizard. The latest Merlin movie could have been based on this book. Add to that the spice of your imagination then you will know what to expect of the wizards apprentice? There are a few things that weren't in the movie that should have been included but perhaps there will b a second movie to expand on the theme.

This really made the difference in the direction of the book. And finally, a huge thanks to my wife Lisa, daughter Kylie, and son Kenzo. You guys are the real inspiration for all this work. I would like to thank first and foremost my coauthor Marko for agreeing to a collaboration on this edition—it has been an awesome ride. Also, Blake Meike and Bill Schrickel for their technical comments and corrections, which have been invaluable.
Thanks also goes out to my family—Shinji, Yuri, Jiro, Toshihisa—who have been very encouraging and supportive even trying out some of the examples that I have written over the years. Of note is Jessamyn Hodge, who once again put up with me and supported me throughout the process. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
