There were just too many things that were contrived in order to push the plot along. That wasn't the case here. Playing with the werewolf mythology disappointed me too.
Call me a romantic, but in all of the paranormal books I have read, be it werewolf or vampire, they all only had ONE true mate, ONE true love.
Also, when you reach an ending to the story even though there is one more book, it doesn't focus on the previous storyline , I like to feel like it was an incredible ride. The ending to this book was a case of "blink once and you missed it". To have him come in in the last few pages to help save the day was just disappointing. It felt like the ending was phoned in just to give the reading audience a taste of what should have been all along.
On the whole, I think that younger YA audiences will enjoy the series, but I personally don't believe it would be enjoyed nearly as much by older YA or New Adult audiences much less adults. One person found this helpful. The 6th book in the Howl series by Jody and Jayme Morse has brought this amazing series to an end. I love this series that never let's you down in the adventure, romance, lies, and all out amazing series.
The characters in this series are all strong individuals that can hold their own. Samara's life has went from normal teenager to married to her mate Luke and Alpha of her pack Tala. Can Samara's life get any more complicated then it already is? Can she live a semi normal life without someone trying to kill her? Between trying to get ready for the biggest fight of their life's against the Vyka pack and evil spirits. And with grandpa Joe making appearances that have all wondering.
Is it the ghost of Joe or has he been hiding all this time? As they all soon find there is a traitor among their pack that will try to Samara to her death. As secrets are revealed can their pack survive? And at what cost? To find out get your copy of this amazing series by Jody and jayme Morse and start reading them today. I can't wait to read them all over again and see what these amazing authors come up with next.
Maybe a novel about the story of Joe and his amazing tale. I bet that would be amazing to read. Wish I felt a higher rating was warranted but this book from the series just didn't hit the mark for me. The whole story seemed rush and keeping in mind this YA orientated it seemed very juvenile.

It's been a few months since I read the last book in the series, 5, but I don't remember having had the same complaints with that one or the earlier books in the series. The end of the story still touched my heart. A terribly sad moment, combined with the happy occurrences Poor thing didn't deserve that: This series is good. My only complaint is the lack of proof reading. But, other than that, this series as a whole is good. I gave it 5 stars for the story. I chose 5 star rating because all the books kept me on the edge of my seat.
I almost chose not to read the Howl series because of other reviews on how it needed editing. I am so glad I decided to read these books for myself before passing the Howl series by.

If you want to be entertained read these books! I was happy that it was a surprising ending. This book leaves you wondering what's going to happen next. Some parts were shocking and unexpected. It made the story interesting, but it almost made it seem random and chaotic. I wished that Samara would have more interaction with Delcan.
It would have been fun to see more of them together. The way the big fight ended made me sad. It's always hard to lose someone. When Samara arrives home from her honeymoon with Luke, she finds herself keeping more secrets from her mate—and her pack—than ever before. When the Tala pack travels to the Catskills to find out if there's a chance that Samara's grandfather, Joe McKinley, might still be alive, Samara finds herself witnessing a Vyka initiation that she would have rather not seen. But as the Vyka get prepared to attack the Tala, Samara knows that they're really out for blood this time.
