The Damaged Posse Series

Get to Know Us. And I plan to do just that.

In the eagerly anticipated fourth book in B. Set in the magnificent surroundings of the Thousand Islands, Summerman needs to juggle several problems simultaneously and each one brings along its own challenges and predictably hysterical outcomes. Doc, Merlin, and Gene are all back as is Murray and, unfortunately for Uncle Dick, he is in particularly fine form. One part murder mystery, one part crime adventure, one part love story; all parts fall on the floor laughing.

Summerman is simply a great book. The Damaged Posse series has officially become my favorite. The Duplicates Get the book here. The story takes place in the very near future — it could be tomorrow. The story contains two dramatically futuristic elements — the Duplicates, and the satellite-generated sky images. I might take issue with how the author defines these two items, but since he writes the rules for his own near-future, I will give him a pass on his science fidelity.

Since it became part of the story structure, I set aside my personal proclivities and went with the story. I would not recommend, however, that an impressionable teenager read this book. Basically, this is a tale of several interconnected people with long histories both in and out of government clandestine service who face a world-threatening problem for which a couple of them are at least partially responsible in the first place , and who work together sort of to find a solution.

Welcome - B.R. Snow

Sex and violence and even violent sexuality fill a significant part of the tale, but without it, the story would be incomplete. The story starts out with a page-turning bang, and never lets up through the entire book. In a sense, it is a modern day Mike-Hammer-kind-of-story — raw, gutsy, vital, and damned hard to put down. Doc gets a call from his former shrink telling him she has just killed her husband. After arriving on the scene, End of Days religious prophecies start appearing as images in the night sky.

As the world begins to lose its collective mind, realer-than-real Duplicates get added to the mix, and the global threat soon reaches a tipping point. As the story crisscrosses between Washington, India, Jerusalem, and Hawaii, Doc is forced to embark on a bizarre and deadly mission to take the images and Duplicates down before the voice in his head does the same to him. The Duplicates deals with the very real threat of disintermediation caused by technological advancements overlaid with the powder keg of unrest arising out of religious differences.
