C yearns for companionship, believing she has found a friend in Maxton, the young son of the High Court Judge but Maxton is deceptive and determined to humiliate the young princess. As her prophetic ability manifests, Delucia receives an invitation to Akarnae Academy. A new beginning and a chance to connect with her peers. C is without her Princess title but with years of isolation and protecting her emotions, she becomes estranged from her fellow students before being introduced to Alexandra Jennings.

Scars And Silence accompanies Jordan Sparker throughout his journey of empowerment after which his life was claimed and manipulated by Aven Dalmarta. Jordan is experiencing a crisis of identity, betrayal and consumed by his affliction. Through compassion and understanding, Jordan begins to acknowledge his anxiety and is encouraged by Delucia and Hunter, two positive influences within his life. Jordan continues to blame himself for the death of his brother, adding to his anguish. Jordan discovered his brother moments before he had taken his own life, watching in horror but rendered helpless.

Jordan shares with D. C the circumstances surrounding Luka's suicide which may distress readers. Luka identified as gay and although in a wonderful relationship with a male partner, their volatile father dismissed Luka's sexuality, going as far to force Luka into an arranged marriage. Luka, feeling as though he had no other option, took his own life. Bear finds solace within his tentative friendship and potential relationship with Declan. Amidst the devastation, the apprehensive smiles of the potential romance is beautiful.

We Three Heroes offers readers an insight into the significant moments that shape each character throughout the series, from each characters point of view. The brave, tentative and vulnerable moments that add depth and humanity to characters we typically see as indestructible. The Medoran Chronicles is a phenomenal series, adventurous, imaginative and superbly written.

Lynette Noni is a prolific author, creating atmospheric worlds and vibrant characters. I've fallen in love with reading all over again.

I loved getting to know DC, Jordan and Bear even more and getting a better view into their lives, past and present. Stab me once in the heart, shame on you Lynette.

Stab me twice for something I knew was coming, well poop.. I should just stop reading before I use up all my bookish lives.

At least, not in the same way I do about so many other characters in The Medoran Chronicles. Who knows, maybe getting to know D. The first novella, Crowns and Curses, shows us what made D. Crowns and Curses not only reminded me why I loved D.

Seeing scenes through D. It felt easy and natural slipping into D. In fact, this was the novella that surprised me the most. Even thinking about it now is making me almost tear up. My heart aches when I think about this novella, and I was so touched by the love I felt flowing through the pages as I read it. These two novellas helped me re-find my love for D. I long for scenes with him in it, so I was beyond excited to have a whole novella dedicated especially to him.

Needless to say, Hearts and Headstones was the novella I was most excited for, but it turned out to be the only one that let me down just I little bit. I expected it to pick up immediately where Graevale left of, but it turned out to be the build-up. We learnt new and surprising things about D. Still, I did for the most part absolutely adore this. Hopefully I won't fall into a book slump when I reread this in preparation for Vardaesia. Jun 13, Jenna rated it it was amazing Shelves: It's probably time I reviewed this one, seeing as I read it so long ago!

This companion bind-up of the D. Not only does it contain information to bridge the gap between books four and five, it deals with some very real and complex issues.

Crowns and Curses Meeting D. Lynette takes us into the mind of everyone's favourite princess and shows us who she really is. Scars and Silence I think Jordan's novella is my favourite of the three. It deals with some incredibly real and topical issues that prove Lynette is more than just a fantasy writer. She has tackled each of these issues with incredible care and respect and will make you sob into your pillow as you learn more about Jordan and his family.

Hearts and Headstones Anyone who has already read book four in The Medoran Chronicles will have a good idea of the topic of this novella. Once again we see Lynette delving deep into some heavy issues and dealing with them perfectly. Bear is the sweetest guy and we get to meet and understand not only him better, but also some of the other supporting characters in this series we can't help but love. The entire bind-up is a perfect blend of exciting plot and intriguing character studies that give us as readers the chance to meet Alex's strength and hope.

Alex may be strong, but she couldn't do this without her best friends, and this novella shows us why. View all 3 comments.

We then follow her healing journey and see her become the loyal and loving friend we know from books At a first glance Jordan appears to be just an adorable cheeky ruffian with cool disappearing powers, but through this short we get to dive deeper into the boy and recover with him as he deals with the blows he received from Aven in books I really enjoyed this book.

It allows us to get to know the side charters better and I think getting a deeper understanding for them will make the final instalment all that more epic! The series has it all; action, adventure, a kick ass heroine, fantastic side characters, friendship, humour, romance, deeply built parallel worlds, humans with fantastical abilities and immortal beings. In my defence it is an amazing series and the stories in this book weave through the timelines of the first four books.

Who would enjoy this book: Sep 12, Skyla rated it it was amazing Shelves: This will contain spoilers When I started reading this I didn't want to expect to much, but it was honestly incredible. I never really liked her as much as the others due to her hostility. But honestly, I can now see why she treated Alex the way she did.

I hate Maxton so much. This novella was amazing.

Everything we never knew about him was revealed. He never told Alex much in t This will contain spoilers He never told Alex much in the main series, I thought he got over it, but obviously not. Then when he revealed that Luka was GAY That hit me hard. Luka's death was so so sad. This Novella was breathtaking and phenomenal. This Novella was beyond what I dreamed of.

It just couldn't compare to the other 2 novellas. I cannot wait for the final installment of the Medoran Chronicles. Nov 14, Alona rated it really liked it. Do I need to mention here again that I loved it? Because I sure did. Usually, I'm not a novella person at all, but I really enjoyed these ones. Getting to know Bear, Jordan and D. I'm really amazed of how these three stories made me openly laugh at one moment and almost cry at another almost because I did everything that I could to contain my tears as I wasn't alone.

Now I just have to survive till February, so i can get my hands on Vardaesia. Once again Lynette does not disappoint with the three novellas that make up this book. A look and glimpse into the best friends of Alex, and I am now hanging out for the final book next year to wrap up the Medoran Chronicles. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Sep 14, Alayne rated it it was amazing. This is a backstory of the three friends of the hero of the Medoran Chronicles.

DC, Jordan and Bear all have quite a lot of trauma in their lives and Lynette Noni is an extremely good writer. I found myself being deeply moved by her writing and am looking forward to reading the rest of the Chronicles. Oct 02, Kaysia bookskay rated it it was amazing. Sep 14, Rachel rachels. I'm really glad this book came about. My favourite novella has to be Bear's just because all the things I felt were missing at the ending of Graevale had found their way into the end of his novella, and it was everything I wanted it to be. DC's story gave a bit of background to explain her behaviour in the first book, and Jordan's went into his dark past and struggles after Alex released him from Aven's control.

Although I enjoyed both novellas, they were both a bit repetitive- especially Jordan's, I lost count of how many times he talked about his scars. Bear's story I really enjoyed though. Even though it gave less unknown details than the other 3. Even though it gave less unknown details than the other two, I felt like I enjoyed it more, I think Noni achieved Bear's voice really well, where I felt DC and Jordan didn't seem as strong to me as protagonists.

I also just love Bear, and where his novella left off has me even more impatient for the final installment!
