It was so good. Another great one BUT I really enjoyed this book, although I enjoyed the first one a little more. I think this author is great and I adore her characters, they are easy to love and I love their relationships with each other. This is particularly a genre I enjoy I also greatly enjoy any powerful alpha male, and this book had plenty of them.

Also, she nora has a very traumatic and brutal past and she has many issues that she is personally working out, this is also something I enjoy Because I greatly enjoy damaged but redeemable characters, I love dark romance.

I love this series and totally recommend it to anyone who likes this genre. I do have some minor critiques for the author This is supposed to be an adult slow burn paranormal reverse harem romance novel right? So I can roll with it ;- 3. I loved The introduction of Rook, basically I just love Rook lol and it would be awesome if the author introduced one or two more love interests of a different species. More action Fighting Ect..

Let our main character Nora start to kick some ass! I don't understand how the title relates I don't understand how the title relates to the book at all. Nora is back and traded one obsessive male Henry for another Rook , but somehow she is fine with it.

I don't understand how she will be able to have a harem - or how the alpha males will accept sharing her - especially with Rook being as obsessed and kinda controlling as Henr I don't understand how the title relates I don't understand how the title relates to the book at all. All the males interested in her are jealous and don't like each other. Good luck with that! I am hoping this series doesn't become a "who will kidnap me next and then try to mate or kill me" each book. I am wondering what will happen next and if Nora will continue working at the club now that she knows what she is.

Also - why isn't her father ever mentioned? He's my favorite so far. And now we know what Nora is and I have to say I totally guessed it!! Can't wait to see where the gang goes from here and sad to have to wait until next year to find out. May 29, Siri rated it really liked it. Holy moley i am obssesed with this series aka the characters and the whole story!

I stayed up very late, i could not stop reading until i finished this book My fave is Rook, i love that dude And i want the next book!!! Super entertaining This book kept me engrossed from the beginning to the end. A fun clean mystery that kept me guessing all the way. Jun 24, Megan rated it it was amazing. I am obsessed in a way that I haven't been about a series in a really long time.

May 21, Nicky Lynn rated it it was amazing. Though the twist on who Nora is was kind of predictable, I love the way the story is progressing! May 26, Sabrina Lyn rated it really liked it. Its getting annoying to see "i need to control.. Blah blah" on what seems like every other page. One second she acknowledges that 'so and so' feelings are genuine and the next shes having the same monologue again.

My other issue is that im not feeling the development with some of the heroes.. It was Starting to get confusing about who's going to be included and who isnt.. Im actually disappointed gorgeous might not be.. But, since the first book this book has had me hooked. Idk why but in a small way this book reminds me of the tv show True Blood just in the way that all the males are attracted to Nora. I love the characters in this book and all the world building that is done in this book.

I love Nora and her over protective males and I like the story in this book that takes place. I look forward to If you told me I would like a RH book with a troll, vampire, werewolve, and a sorcerer I would not have believed you. I look forward to many books in this series. I don't LOVE many other rh books.

  • My other favorite is The Veil Diaries and now this one! What is great that they do is they are building a foundation of friendships between Nora and the guys. We know how they all love her already. And, she loves them. And, I think that is the essential part of a good rh is the friendship and love before going straight to sex or oral. Like in a handful of rh books the main girl might not be read for sex, but shes okay with doing other stuff. Also, like many other rh books the MC comes from a troubled past and has been sexually abused.

Now, this usually annoys me for two reasons 1. Because it's overdone and it makes the reader automatically feel bad for them. Because for a girl who was abused she is usually okay from the first book of the whole idea of having a sexual relationship with a group of men. BUT, in this book the whole troubled past works and we see Nora trying to deal with her troubled past. She says she wont date and she is trying to get use to being affectionate with her male friends. And, her male friends treat her delicatly because they know the trama she has experience.

From the readers pov we can really see the love all the men in her life have for her and are not interested in her soley for sex.

There is also ALOT going on so this book is not focused soley on her talking about her feelings for all the guys. Ok, enough of my ramble. Then, a pack of rogue wolves attack Nora and Parker on their date and we find out its the head alpha's mate. They make up a plan to pretend Nora is going to mate to Rook and the head Luna attacks Nora almost killing her.

We find out in the end she is a Siren a type of fey and all the guys vow to protect her. Also in this book there is a sweet kiss between her and Oliver. A kiss between her and Parker. And, I think there was a kiss between her and Rook. Aug 07, CoullCat rated it really liked it. Nora is still living with Terence under the bridge, and the beginning chapter sees her take him up on an offer of employment at his nightclub, Underworld. Cue werewolf drama and an investigation to undertake and we have ourselves another RH feeling more like an UF.

The other character that is starting to really annoy me is Nora. And every man either wanting to have her or kill her is actually starting to get old. And the authors were once again very diligent in ensuring that there were no errors. This series is definitely slow burn. Saying that, I will be reading the next book when it is out. Dec 12, I loved the first book in this series. I nabbed this one as soon as I saw it release. Like the first, Nora is finding her place in the supernatural, or underworlder, community.

In this book, she is drawn more into the local werewolf pack and what is happening there, though all of our favorite characters from book 1 make appearances. I was happy to see Nora find out more about herself in this book: It was also nice to see her progress a 4. It was also nice to see her progress a bit through her trauma with both Parker and Ollie. Meanwhile, her relationships with Nick Gorgeous and Terrance hold steady and seem to be staying in the "family" zone, at least for now. To this array of men, Rook, a wolf is added as a potential romantic partner, and his brother, Wulf, seems to be another friend along the lines of Terrance.

This book was just as engaging as the first from start to finish, and the author does an amazing job balancing all of these characters and Nora's relationships with each of them no easy feat! There was one small thing that didn't quite ring true for me, a characterization issue that popped up multiple times and jarred me a bit out of the story each time.

We are told constantly in this book how dominant Nora is. So dominant, in fact, that she is more so than even the most dominant female werewolf, the Alpha's mate. My problem with this is in Nora's characterization. She doesn't come across as dominant at all. Can she set a firm boundary and keep it? But not without having to state it over and over, thanks to both her trauma and her power that draws men to her. Not that she isn't a strong character, but she isn't the one who takes charge in any given situation and decides who is doing what.

For this reason, having every single werewolf comment that she is "So dominant! For that reason, I deducted half a star. But the book is still really good, among my favorite new series this year. In the last book she started to form a group of friends, formed from several different Underworld species and is adopted into a troll clan. I absolutely love Terrance, who is a big giant of a troll who is incredibly protective of his human clan member. For the first time since the death of her mother Nora feels part of a family.

Nora is attacked in the nightclub and Wulf decides that Nora needs to learn how to defend herself. He takes her to his old pack and is introduced to Rook who takes on training her. Whilst at the pack compound she is drawn into pack drama and becomes more closely involved with the werewolves, as she helps them out.

I like the layers to this book. It is the slow building up of her trust and friendship that starts to chip away at healing some of her fears of men. Whilst all these different friendships are being established we see how the supernatural world react to Nora and how she starts to find a place in it. Aug 23, Ada rated it it was ok Shelves: I don't understand how this title is appropriate for the story, there were tons of things happening to find a better creative one.

Nora is a weird combination of traits that is thrown around solely on the basis of what's convenient during that time. She is sassy and dominating when talking with wolves who appreciate the strength. She is panicky and haunted when kisses lead to flashback trauma.

She can learn fighting moves fast and can take on a wolf by luck but still is knocki Don't Cheat Me.. She can learn fighting moves fast and can take on a wolf by luck but still is knocking on death's door twice in this book. Can we decide if she is a victim or not? Enough with the everything is about her tragic past. I figured what was Nora way back in the first book itself after we cancelled out Succubus and Incubus. I would have questioned this book for it's claim for being a reverse harem if it wasn't specifically mentioned in the synopsis.

It says slow burn but let me tell you it's more snail paced slow burn. Not to forget the possessiveness with some of her potential harem members, dafuq? How would they accept sharing when they can't handle innocent kisses? I don't see how this is going to work out. The storyline had wolves so it held my curiosity through the mystery only annoyed when things would stagnant and drag with casual stuff that would certainly involve Nora thinking about her abusive past and her tortured soul.

The whole mystery itself was not that deep, but it's something in a book that is clueless with character development.

Oct 12, Aimee rated it it was ok Shelves: I liked the first one well enough to try this one out. I can't quite put my finger on whether the biggest thing that bugged me was the narrator or the writing. The narrator read this with the required cadence to illustrate a proper sentence, but she read without emotion or personality. But there doesn't seem to be much emotion or personality written into the story.

So who is at fault for this? It wasn't worth much pondering to figure it out. The lack of life coming from the characters, both narr I liked the first one well enough to try this one out. The lack of life coming from the characters, both narration and writing, made this read very bland and methodical. First book implied a love triangle.

Second book seems to lead toward maybe a love square. Or maybe even a reverse harem book. I can't quite find what these guys like in Norah. She's mostly boring with some interesting gifts. She spends most of the book whining. Curse my curse for curing them into liking me! It wasn't such a big bother in the first book, but it is played up a lot in the second and I almost didn't finish it.

The big reveal was lacking. I actually let out a loud sigh of disappointment when it happened. I was hoping for something better. It does make sense and the author has been playing towards from the start, but still, it was so not a shock or surprise it fell flat. The first book had a small promise of a good series, the second book shut that door for me. I won't be listening to the next.
