By this time Celia releases she is being used by evil powers and has been unwillingly led. In a final show down where Sol and Phoenix battle it out with Jeff and Ga'ap, Rob appears at the last minute again coming out of his exile due to daylight saving going back. Jeff and Ga'ap originally planned this so Rib would just see Sol dying when he arrives, but thank goodness for a plan hatched by Phoenix the tables are turned.

However, just before the end is nigh with Jeff he tells Sol he holds the key to break the curse on Rob. But Sol has to sacrifice this information for the better good. So the curse still remains with Rob and the search continues to break the curse. This is the second book in the series and I'm really getting into it big time. The sense of humour is still present and the story takes on all kinds of twists and turns. It kept me interested all the way and now I'm waiting to move on to the third book Cleopatra's Needle, so watch this space as I'm sure there will be a review to come.
Oct 11, Sarabeth rated it really liked it Shelves: I didn't hesitate to get this sequel because I immediately loved the first. I thought I wouldn't like it because I knew the boyfriend and demon we're introduced to in the beginning barely even makes an appearance. Essentially this worked for me, because.. Sol learns to rely on his own intuition and instinct, and learns how to trust other people, and when not to trust.
A lot of important character development would disappear if your uber magical boyfriend was always around to rescue you.

Aug 31, Lucie LeBlanc rated it it was amazing Shelves: I liked the first book of the Rob the Deamon Chronicles, but this one is even better.
The first book set the story and the characters and now the action is on. Phoenix caged is fast paced, full of action and drama, and so brilliantly written. With every Brad Vance book I read, I can't help but be impressed by the amount of research and knowledge he puts into each one. And his storytelling skills are captivating. This is not just entertainment, it's a total experience for the brain. Jan 21, booklover rated it it was amazing. Sep 29, Donna rated it it was amazing. Loved this second book in the series just as much as the first one. I hope there is going to be a third book so that Sol can save Rob and bring Phoenix back to life.

This I felt for me personally got a little confusing at times and I was trying too hard to make logical connections. Just got the feeling the parts of the story where they were back in history just felt a litte disjointed to me. Maybe I could put this down to my lack of experience in the genre and decided to go with the flow.
Maybe things will become clearer in the books to come. For my first paranormal book I was relieved and enthralled that I could get into it so quickly. It is well grounded in the present and had a certain believability factor, that didn't leave me rolling my eyes and thinking, "oh yeah, like seriously? I don't believe in God, or angels, or demons, or ghosts that knock on tables or Sasquatches, or mind readers, or spoon benders or mediums, or witches, or vampires, or werewolves, or Made the whole thing for me easier to get my head around.
For someone attempting the paranormal side of things for the first time then this book would be a good place to start. I enjoyed this book and was a nice introduction into losing my paranormal virginity. View all 5 comments.

Sep 22, Tinnean rated it really liked it. I know someone objected to the religious aspect of this book, but I had no problem with it. And I was really glad Rob did what he did in Nov 21, MsChris rated it it was amazing Shelves: Another fantastic story by Brad Vance. I believe it's his first in the paranormal genre, but you'd not realize it from the creative and imaginative storyline.
The world-building he creates for Rob Sabat, the Daemon , Sol who is a descendant of King Solomon , their counterparts, their friends, and their foes was clearly well thought out and extremely well written with plenty of detail and layering. I was caught up in the magic of the love story, both past and present, as much as the adventure S Another fantastic story by Brad Vance.
I was caught up in the magic of the love story, both past and present, as much as the adventure Sol finds himself on as he embraces his true roots, his true love for Rob, and his destiny. Vance offers a tale of Kings and Queens, Sorcerers and Demons, friends, frenemies, enemies, and lovers told with humor, a bit of mystery, and a cast of characters you'll be rooting for early on. I found it impossible to put down, my curiosity for what would happen next was too great.
And when completed all I could think was that I want more! More of the Chronicles of Rob the Daemon! Vance is a strong writer and piece, as usual is well-edited, so it was almost a luxury to focus on quibbles with plot development, unlike other authors' works. It looks like Sol has got a hot romance on his hands, until he finds out that Rob is actually a very ancient daemon. If that isn't weird enough for Sol, Rob informs him that he is a descendant of King Solomon. With Rob's help, Sol is destiny to become one of the greatest magicians of all time. With his abilities, Sol can reverse the curse that Rob is under. This is a quirky, funny, hot read. Rob and Sol are wonderful characters in this at times humorous tale of sorcery. May 21, Jack Hagin rated it it was amazing. Rob the Daemon Chronicles of Rob the Daemon Book 1 Kindle Edition I think Brad Vance can make you believe and want to have sex with almost anyone - even a daemon - what a hot, interesting and fun story. I plan to read the rest of the series very soon. Brad sometimes I think you must have been eating too many brownies late at night when you come up with this stuff, but your imagination is about as twisted and fun as mine. And even though I am addicted, I would be willing to wait a bit more for a complete novel-set, for more involved, resolved plot.
Rob the Daemon is a paranormal romance, with a snarky hero, Sol, who finds out that he is not only the last descendent of the great King Soloman, but also inherited his daemon lover, Rob. Soon, Sol is falling hard for his dangerous, otherworldy lover and both hatch a plan to free Rob from a curse that sends him into the bowels of the earth every Daylight Savings Time. How cool is that?! Every chapter is headed with a seriously twisted summary of events and while there is a gentle humor that flows throughout the story, it also has real emotional connections between the two lovers and ends cleanly on a cliffhanger that has me waiting impatiently for the second book in the Chronicles of Rob.
Brad Vance has also written a world that is infused with magic and demons and I fear for Sol's continued health, for he seems to embody the classic saying: Try this story out, you won't regret it! PS to the one-star reviewer: I actually looked for Dark O'clock in the Kindle store and couldn't find it. Perhaps you could request a refund from Amazon next time, instead of using the star system to punish the author for a simple misunderstanding. How freaky is it that I pick this book to read today, the first day of DST, not knowing the whole plot centers around I almost felt as if I were there, in Reno, up on that mountain, looking at those sprigs of green grass in the midst of the brown dead ones.
That's not a spoiler And let me tell you, he has the words. I've added three new ones to my vocabulary from this book alone. That's all you're getting from me about the story other than it's good enough to get five stars from me. Now, I'm going to start the next one. One person found this helpful. This one is a little different to what I usually read, but I've really enjoyed Brad Vance's recent romance novels check out his blog for a taste, he puts loads of stuff up there while he's working on things and the blurb intrigued me seriously, King Solomon, The Queen of Sheeba and a talking dog?
This is a fast and funny read, with some hot demon sex and an interesting new twist on demonology. The author clearly did some research on this and used some old mystical texts as a jumping-off point for his world-building. In general I just really liked the tone of it. I'd say "irreverent", rather than outright comedy, which is refreshing in a genre that often takes itself a little too seriously. There's a lot of setup in this one so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out in future episodes. See all 23 reviews.
