Future Research in Sport Psychology. The field of sport psychology cannot continue to grow unless research adds to the knowledge we have about the field. Consumers, including sport administrators, coaches, and athletes themselves want to know if specific sport psychology interventions work, and under what conditions. I maintain sport psychologists should also strive to increase the sophistication of their approaches to research.
