This grim prediction was first published in the edition of The Jobless Future , an eerily accurate title that could have been written for today's dismal economic climate. Fully updated and with a new introduction by Stanley Aronowitz and William DiFazio, The Jobless Future warns that jobs as we know them-long-term, with benefits-are an endangered species. The Jobless Future: Second Edition

When I read this book ten years ago, I thought it was interesting. When you read it now you will think Aronowitz is utterly amazing having in this book predicted the economic story of our time: If you want to understand whether the present job situation as it is now is temporary or more deeply systemic and why.. It fills a giant gap, produced also by political fragmentation and relative absence of a necessary national debate. What is lacking at the present time is any serious discussion or debate on the economy and the key issue of joblessnes. This also has political implications as well as serious implications especially for present and future generations.
