We arrived in Disneyland around 8: I will say at this point having been to Orlando 3 times and reading some of the reviews on Disneyland Paris I was slightly worried that I would be disappointed When we came though onto Main Street and saw the Castle it took my breath away and the little gasps of awe from my kiddies followed by their little squeals of delight ' it's the Disney Castle' almost reduced me to happy tears!!

We headed over to City Hall to enquire about an access card for my DS. I had taken his statement of special educational needs, his diagnosis letter, a letter from our GP and the Blue Badge - all the lady looked at was the Blue Badge. We were give a Priority Card. The lady that served us was really helpful, she marked out parade times and routes on my map along with the designated viewing areas. She gave my DS a wristband to wear with his name, my name, his diagnosis and my telephone number. She also gave my DD a little name badge which I thought was very nice indeed.

Filmography

We headed to fantasyland and our fist stop was the tea cups, we showed the pass at the exit and got straight on. We then headed to Pinocchio - my DS loves this film but the ride scared him and he wouldn't get on it again. After Pinocchio we headed over to Peter Pans flight which again we walked onto. We then bought some autograph books etc in preparation for the days ahead before heading over to Discoveryland.

By this stage it had started to rain and we were all getting a little weary. We did Buzz light year and when we came out it was pouring. We had intended on staying to watch Dreams but we were wet and tired now so decided to call it a day and head back to the ranch. The journey takes 10 minutes if even and before we knew it we were back at our cabin, heaters on full blast feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere - pure bliss!! Day 2 to follow We had breakfast in our cabin, got ready and headed to the Walt Disney Studios.

We had planned to do Disneyland but it was forecast for rain so decided the Studios may offer more cover. We entered the park and headed to hire 2 strollers. We had read on here beforehand that the strollers can go 'missing' so we took a bicycle look and this did the trick!

Our 1st stop was Cars Quatre Rallye, went to the exit and showed the pass and got on the next go. My 2 loved this: The flying carpets was closed. At this point I will say that we were nervous about bringing our DS here from the offset as he does not cope well with characters so we knew there was a chance this trip may not go well for us.

Trip Review 26th-30th May Davey Crocket Ranch (DS ASD) - Disneyland Paris Forum

BUT no the screaming started, followed by the thrashing around in the stroller etc and my heart sank. We walked at super fast speed past him. Mickey was there too and my DD was desperate to meet him. We walked on into Toy Story playland and eventually my DS calmed down. We went on Slinky the dog. He wasn't allowed on the Toy Soldiers Parachute drop due to his autism the lady who issued our priority card kindly explained this and the reasons why. We left this area and walked round by TOT smack bang into the character meet and greet in Place Des Stars around 12ish - well this just brought on the biggest meltdown we have had in weeks.

He was about to join the queue when the CM told him the line was closed so he came to join me and we went into studio one to sit gather ourselves. DS eventually calmed down, we had made sandwiches and brought them with us.

My DH went and got some chips for us to have with them. The meltdown had left us all drained and my DS wanted to go back to the cabin. We decided this was best so we headed back to the ranch for a few hours and had some dinner. We went back to Disneyland around 6: By this time, around 9pm, people were already securing their spots for Dreams infront of the castle.

My pair would never sit that long so we headed into Videopolis and got some food and killed some time. We left here about The show started and whilst I'm sure it's even more amazing right up at the castle we thought it was pretty breath taking from our position which was about half way up main street. Unfortunately my DD was getting tired and my DS overwhelmed so we left early. Again we had a very short drive back to the ranch and were fast asleep in what we found to be very comfy beds in no time! Can't wait to hear how you get on at breakfast!

Ur poor dd when the meat and greet closed hope she got to meet Donald at breakfast! And off course hear how ur son got on! That was great the ranch gave u a suitable mobile! I travelled with my 4 year old with ASD and my 2 year old. There were times It was extremely stressful but the highs definitely outweighed the lows - hope they did for you too. Similarly to you I travelled with my 4 year old daughter with ASD and my 1 almost 2 year old daughter.

Hi Deborah, enjoying your tr! I can totally empathise with the meltdowns as my ds now 11 has Aspergers Syndrome.
