There's plenty of action, but the plot doesn't really jump that far forwards, essentially Mulder hunts down Scully and they find each other with a great cliffhanger. Not much more happens. When read in succession I've got all 25 issues lined up to go it's not a problem, however, when I've caught up to the ongoing season 11, it might get frustrating! Nevertheless, Season 10 makes clear bids toward legitimacy and relevance with its opening myth-arc, of an ascendant cabal bent on hastening the alien re-population of Earth, and Harris seems bent on assuring readers that this isn't a disposable media tie-in. The mismatched art styles and varied depictions of Mulder, Scully, and other classic X-Files characters are somewhat jarring, though not as problematic as it is in Volume 2 or the stultifyingly awful one-shot, The X-Files: If you're looking for better comic stories featuring Agents Mulder and Scully, I strongly recommend the Topps Comics adaptations from the mids which is now being reprinted under The X-Files: Classics; the artwork found in those issues is both superior and consistent.
One person found this helpful. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. With rumors of a new Xfiles series a foot, I decided to pick up this digital copy of Season 10 vol 1. I have to say that its a nice continuation of the series.

It tries to bring some new life to the storyline they had set in season 9, and fix some of the choices the made back then. I'm interested in to see where this is all going. This copy also doesn't have the usual viewing problems I get with digital comics I buy on amazon. I have a fire hdx, and almost all the comics I have won't display the double page spreads when you turn it on landscape mode.
This makes some panels unreadable because the panels are too small. This book doesn't have problems because it doesn't have have double page spreads. We go back in time and see the lead up to the day, the event, and its consequences. They are after Skully's and Mulder's? This comic is definitely the latter. This comic leaves more questions than answers, the way a good episode of The X Files does.

So, you have a free hour and enough money to buy this comic. If you're a fan of The X Files, you should. If you watched all nine seasons of The X Files, you definitely should. This takes you in a new direction, and if you read it, you'll be buying more issues. There is a tendency in media tie-in comic books to put everything possible in.
That's a given, but what I was blown away by in this comic is how true it stays to the vision of the original series. Now it seems with the new series coming in a few days things will change but the story in this volume spoke to me looking forward to reading volume 2 in the series. This is a good revival of the storyline, for those disappointed by both the way the actual show and the movie series ended. The writers do a good job of figuring a way to bring back some favorite characters, but the jury is still out on whether they can move on to more interesting and new story ideas - so far they're just addressing old plotlines from the show rather than treading new ground.
This was only okay. Good to see old friends like Milder and Scully and Skinner back once again. This is a continuation of the television series, so Milder and Scully are older and still together as a couple. The story is okay, but I personally didn't care for the artwork, which seemed rushed. Skinner is later nearly killed in his hotel room, whereas Scully is met outside of the hospital by one of her patients, the young Emily Van de Kamp who is acting as if she were possessed; Scully is soon surrounded and brutally attacked. Meanwhile, Mulder tracks down the Lone Gunmen —revealed to have faked their deaths several years earlier —who attempt to help him find Scully.
Scully, meanwhile, wakes up in a cabin surrounded by the mysterious Acolytes. She is subsequently saved by the ominous Deacon. FBI Agent Monica Reyes investigates William 's adoptive parents, only to discover their dead bodies in William's room, revealing that it was some unknown entities portraying the adoptive parents. Scully learns that she is being protected by the Deacon, and that the pipeline that Dogget was investigating is carrying magnetite. Mulder is visited by the believed-to-be dead Smoking Man , who behaves extremely oddly. Skinner tracks down Emily, only to discover tell-tale signs of acidic green alien blood.
Mulder visits the pipeline believed to be carrying magnetite and deduces that Scully has been taken into the surrounding woods. Meanwhile, Scully is taken by the Deacon to a general store, where she is picked up by an officer, who turns out to be a shape-shifting Acolyte; he transforms into Mulder, and Scully crashes the car. In the woods, Scully shoots the real Mulder, believing him to be Deacon. Mulder is healed by the Acolytes only to be tricked into thinking one of them is Scully.
The real Scully, however manages to kill the impostor; suddenly she witnesses a massive alien space ship rise from the center of Yellowstone National Park , but begins to forget the encounter. She reports to an FBI review board, headed by Skinner, and argues that people with connections to the X-Files division are systematically being targeted.
Before they can remove the furniture coverings from their basement office at the FBI, Agents Mulder and Scully are summoned to a meeting and introduced to their new supervisor, Assistant Director Anna Morales, intent on streamlining the newly reopened X-Files unit. She sends Scully to Quantico, VA and Mulder to Martha's Vineyard to solve a case that has haunting similarities to their decades-old investigation into the Flukeman. Together they make dangerous revelations about the humanoid flatworm's ability to regenerate and procreate.
Mulder survives a massive Flukeman attack in the sewers beneath Martha's Vineyard thanks to Scully's surgical skills, but he has developed an unnerving psychic connection to the creatures, providing him with a greater understanding of the nature of the organisms and their connection to the Chernobyl disaster.

Mulder and Scully ditch their reinstatement training after receiving a voicemail originating from Mulder's old apartment. The clues lead them to revelations about their enemies and the project code named Purity Control. Meanwhile, flashbacks shed new light on the motives behind Mulder's past informants and the source trying to contact him now. The agents pursue a missing person's case in Millersburg, Pennsylvania in which the prime suspect might be under the control of the Chittering God, a being that feeds on its victims' despair.
But what Scully discovers about this entity might be less frightening than what she discovers about herself. The man who spent his life hiding the truth from the public will now have to uncover it if he is to make sense of how he mysteriously returned from the dead. The shifting sands of Saudi Arabia have attracted pilgrims, consumed armies, and made men rich beyond their wildest dreams.
But when an ancient weapon is discovered beneath a newly tapped oil field, Agents Mulder and Scully find themselves pulled back into a black game as slippery as the X-Files have ever revealed
